  • This. Canadians are understandably angry at the USA right now but they need to accept the reality that we share a border with the US and that we still have to do what we can to maintain somewhat peaceful relations.

  • And what about from the US? Project 2025 and the Heritage Foundation? The fact that, from coast-to-coast, all our conservative politicians are parroting Trumpian talking points and flying down to US to attend meetings with Heritage Foundation members?

Also obligatory reminder that NatPo is owned by PostMedia, an American conglomerate that owns several news agencies that pose as being Canadian.

  • Just a note that doing this may result in actions being taken against your accounts(s) - especially charge-backs or related actions. A charge back will almost always result in your account being permanently banned and they will ban you if you try to make new ones.

Make sure you research the service you want to cancel and the options you'd like to take to cancel it. If it's a service you make heavy use of then you need to exercise some caution.

  • I don't really follow this company or its games that closely but whenever I see them pop up in the news it always seems like they go out of their way to make the worst decisions possible.

  • Older games did have less content.

But that's not a bad thing. It just meant they usually weren't filled with dozens of hours of busywork, grind, and pointless padding.

  • I just went and checked on the cost of Mario Kart World out of curiosity. $110CAD for a digital download game for a mobile console. Holy shit. That is absolutely criminal.

  • Spay n pray

  • Soon that pile will be so big that we can use it as a barrier to seal us off from the US completely.

  • I think there is only one store left near me that has them and it's more of a boutique grocery store rather than a large chain.

  • Had a similar looking style of toaster oven in the past, although I'm not sure if it was Oster or not. Either way, it had the exact same problem and was legitimately dangerous when the doors were open.

The doors were mechanically linked together so if you bumped a door by mistake then both would slam closed on your hand, hot metal and glass going into your skin. They also had to open 100% (which is rather wide, taking up a lot of space) or they would spring closed and, again, burn you.

  • When I was learning to drive the thing that took me by surprise the most is how fast the situation can change. You can take your eyes off the road for a second to check your mirror(s), your speed, etc and just in that tiny bit of time the entire situation on the road ahead of you can change dramatically.

Using a phone while driving is negligence of the highest level. It is so incredibly goddamn dangerous that I would possibly argue it should fall under attempted murder instead.

  • One of the most annoying things in the world are American websites that claim to sell internationally but they only offer USD and all provided measurements are in American imperial.

Right up there with online stores that only have boxes for "state" and "zip code" even if the selected country doesn't use those.

  • The US has surrendered almost all of their manufacturing power and knowledge, absolutely kneecapped their education system(s), and stripped away most of its incentives and soft power projection. Trump certainly put the final nail in the coffin but the process has been ongoing for decades.

The US doesn't make anything and a lot of what it does make is bullshit like the entire corn industry. Much of the "value" in the US is speculative and, for lack of a better way of putting it, a complete and utter fantasy. As soon as that house of cards starts to become unstable and the world moves away from the USD then the US economy is going to implode so hard that it would make a black hole blush. They have less and less to bring to the table except their buying power and that is tumbling quickly as their wealth inequality shifts dramatically.

And that's before you even factor in the self-sabotage with things like the random tariffs every 15 minutes and constant threat of being arrested and thrown into a camp. There are companies in the US that have to do their business outside the US because they can't feasibly import product into their own country. It really is difficult to express just how badly the US has backed themselves into a corner.

  • The K980 ditches them in favor of making you install Logi Options Plus to find out. Boo.

    Instant e-waste.

  • From a strategic perspective, it's probably best to hold off until they need that boost. Wait until it is closer to election time and then cancel it an ride the popularity surge through the polls. Cancelling it now would make a lot of people happy but won't last long.

  • I only ever go to a proper, sit-down restaurant like twice a year. Earlier in the spring, my dad got paid a reasonable amount for a big job so he took us both out for dinner at a average family restaurant. We each had some pasta with garlic bread.

After both meals, associated taxes, and tip were tallied up the bill was nearly $70CAD. For 2 pasta dishes in a casual restaurant.

I could not imagine paying those prices with any sort of frequency. Holy crap.

  • creation of a demilitarised Palestinian state.

That's a dumb thing to ask of a country that is currently undergoing genocide.

    Get off America's dick.
