I don't know, I'm just a sqwrl.She/They 🏳️‍⚧️

  • That's what I'm trying to say though, I'm at the point to where it's not a waste of time for me because I know immediately what to do if something goes wrong or I need to make some sort of config change or install/remove software. I'm no longer "tinkering" with it, I'm using it. It's just as fast for me as it is for someone on a more "user friendly" OS.

In other words, I have scaled most of the learning curve cliff.

  • I "do work" just fine on Arch but maybe I've just gotten used to the quirks and the DIY aspect of it. None of it is an obstacle to productivity anymore.

I do realize I'm not the average person and am some kind of freak that likes to take working stuff apart and put it back together for funsies.

  • If the kid is opening up to a third party for this kind of issue instead of their own parent, somewhere along the line, that parent has failed at being a parent and has broken the trust between them and their child. That's how I see it. This is 100% the safer option for many, many kids. Please do not take away the one safe space they have and just throw them back to their fucked up parents.

  • The world is dominated by people like this Karen. Making society so fucking dry, boring, and lifeless. The same sort of people who invented corpospeak.

  • That is also possible with IPv4 though.

  • Hopefully before I die I can say there are people living on it permanently. And someone was finally on Mars.

  • I also use Homeassistant. It's a very rapidly moving target, development-wise, it's understandable that a website listing a procedure to do something from a year ago may not be correct today.

  • At least they are only one-way. They won't be getting any private info or tracking data out of you.

  • I am willing to bet there is still a radio in your vehicle, and very likely a local news station with traffic and weather reports.

  • Right? GeForce RTX 50 series? I JUST upgraded to a Voodoo 3. How about some Quake 3 Arena, fellow old?

  • I mean...just look at him ❤️🤤

  • The people it affected are very much still alive and most of them will be for a long while longer. 30 years isn't THAT long ago.

  • Yep, that's me, just Linux isos, I just like to collect 'em, y'know, and store them on a small 100TB NAS I can access from any Plex client computer in the house should I need them. You never know.

  • I'm going to assume a certain level of mental immaturity. Either still a child or in a child-like mental state.

  • Still waking up and making breakfast. They're perpetually 5 hours late.

  • Also looking for my phone with my phone in my hand. Just ADHD things.
