  • Yeah, it'd be unhelpful at best to have an American representative involved. But more likely they'd be actively trying to sabotage the whole thing, so this was pretty obviously the right move.

  • Why'd you delete it?

  • I'm not going to argue with a conspiracy dipshit anymore. Yeah dude I'm a bot with over two years of history on this platform. Makes perfect sense. Another one of your rigorously tested hypotheses. Brilliant.

  • Yeah, I guess I'm weird because while I'm definitely influenceable, I cannot see a world where I just swallow unlikely "facts" just because some people say them confidently. Unless those people are experts in a field or something, which is pretty opposite to online randos.

  • I do think there are a whole lot of things going on to be far more concerned about at the moment though.

Hell yes! Talking about this shit is a waste of time until actual evidence shows up. Maybe I'm wasting me time by trying to fight against it too but I keep seeing these dumb posts and I cannot just sit here silent while people make a fool out of the entire group of people who oppose trump.

  • None of those things listed prove ANYTHING. Why does that not matter to you? why are you comfortable drawing a conclusion? You definitely shouldn't be. At all.

  • Sure I'll get right on proving something didn't happen right after you prove it did and after you also admit you called me a fascist based on jack fucking shit. I'll be waiting with bated breath.

  • Yeah the moron is the guy who can't believe how gullible people are. The real geniuses are those who look at half assed lists and conclude "this was likely staged". /s

Anything short of rock solid proof means saying "this likely was staged" making you look stupid. It makes us look stupid. It makes the trump administration look way more competent than they are.

  • I also think very poorly of people who don't say "this happened" but speak about it so strongly that it's clear they believe it did. If all I was seeing was questions being asked or the possibility being posed, I wouldn't be concerned. But what I've actually seen was, within hours, many people being completely convinced this was staged. This deeply concerns me.

  • Who are you claiming is a fascist right now?

  • "put it past" and "this happened" aren't the same though. A lot of people here are convinced a few pieces of meaningless circumstantial evidence is "proof".

  • I thought some of these idiots were claiming there was something vaguely related on polymarket. You make a good point though. It wouldn't be quite so vague because none of them fear consequences and none of them are smart enough to keep a secret or be covert in any way

  • Literally not one syllable of that nears proving anything. Thus I don't need to argue against it. We don't prove that something didn't happen, that's not how logic works. We prove something did happen. It seems I've vastly overestimated the level of education present on this platform because none of this conjecture is any better than qanon's. You are not "being skeptical" by buying into unproven, unimportant, perhaps even untrue "evidence". You're making the left look like a bunch of unhinged idiots. And it's sad and hurts the very concept of truth itself. Even just thinking this administration could be even close to competent enough to successfully faking this empowers them. Your willingness to believe unproven things hurts everyone, not that you care.

  • I'll believe it's fake when people don't need to list 17 meaningless trivial things to try to sell it as fake.

  • I update my system often and believe it or not reboot more than once every couple years ;) I'm clueless about all these details I just know from a user perspective I had some annoyances and breakages.

I am not familiar with AppManager at all.

  • Yeah it's invalid to provide an example of how flimsy a case is. It is now my job to prove a negative /s

  • Ah, rock solid evidence like "trump seemed unconcerned".

  • You likely ran an outdated version of appimagelauncher

I'm just curious how you think this would have happened. Did I install it, not use it for months, never update my system, then start using it?

I am not sure it matters why or what issues I had, but I had a few, enough to look for an alternative. In fact my experience with AIL is part of the reason I avoid appImages. They just don't seem to work well in my experience. In any case you were dismissive in your first message and really negative about software that works fine for me, citing reasons that don't seem relevant to my use case, about details that never seemed to impact me. I just know I tried to use AIL for a couple of years and had issues multiple times, the last time resulting in breaking an app. So I stopped using it.
