  • Don't get me started on the French either don't y'all still have some African colonies? shiiiiit we aint forget about why we went to Vietnam either France. I wouldn't be throwing to many stones at glass houses but idk there's plenty more..

  • Oh for sure, im just watching you guys do the same tax cuts, same attacks on speech, I just saw the PM waddle up and talk about how they were helping in Iran lmao. They're always there. US and UK relations and political paths are always closely entwined lmao. We were best friends in Iraq. Neo con leadership doing Neo con things. Fucking UK doesn't deserve any pardons come to think of it, thats my dad!

  • I wish our state was good at critical thinking, but we're all morons. We do have a good eye for whats authentic. Our sniff test will have to pass for critical thinking this time.

  • Im not even critically thinking for this one. This country turned my state into a banana republic for rich peoples 3rd homes. I'd vote for any person who's working a real job in this state. I'm a two issue voter this year. You can't be over 65 and you need to work a real job in the private sector or run a small business. The dude that runs an oyster farm is as close as a lot of Mainers are going to get to someone who feels authentic to a state full of distressed farmers and fishermen.

  • Yea we really need media monopoly busting and go back to fairness doctrine and fund small community media. We really need to increase civic education, we need to make voting day a national holiday. We need to do so much fundamental shit to save our democracy it feels impossible.

  • just a few but they were a sight for sore eyes. We're a real impressionable & community oriented people so being the first guy to hang the sign is a brave move worth noticing.

  • maine republicans can be a lot more diverse in mentality than the national brand. also it helps when its a macho man talking about workers rights. Maybe you silly leftist should watch and learn something about marketing to a wider audience. Because he is selling straight socialism and gaining traction.

  • No you've got this backwards, Maine isn't electing a representative to be absolved by the corrupted DNC. This aint church you silly individual. We're sending him there to crush the DNC and send out a message to other states that you too can take back the democratic seat and don't have to let the DNC assign you a leader. FUCK

  • Thank you for explaining this simple conundrum. I am so relieved to have mills gone, Platner should beat collins without much fuss. Plenty of time to worry about the future. Idk whats the point of gaming out a state senators potential actions. this whole thread is making me wonder what everyone thinks about their own elections.

  • What state are you in? It's funny to have all you talking about our election... how are your elections going? You about to roll another 80 year old establishment contender in for their 30th term?

  • Donald trump has been doing the populism to corporate domination pipeline for TEN FUCKING YEARS. I think ill give populism a try with a fisherman instead of a billionaire baby.

  • at the end of the day, us Mainers don't really care for Washington types or politicians. Platner is a great pick for the state of Maine, he looks like us, he works with us, he talks like us. He will be able to pull votes from both parties because the republicans can't really put him in a sissy liberal box. The other option was our current governor who just sold us out for dibs on an AI data center. I'll take the guy with tattoos and do a little political gamble.

  • bro you got me crying over here with get thee hence satan. gtfouhhhhhh

  • I had pitch forks out for the lady running against him. she finally stepped down. Im just thankful the dudes blue collar and has a progressive platform. The rest of the states need to worry about their own elections. Don't come talking to me if your senator is Ted Cruz or Chuck Schumer.

  • I look inward all the time lol. its pretty fucked up in here too fyi

  • Idk UK pretty much running the same script as over here just a different pace and rollout.

  • In this economy? Make my day.

  • Lol. this went harder than it should have. 10/10

  • I long for the day this comes true.
