  • Again, arguing with the strawman instead of me. Did I say prisoners should not be able to vote, did you ask my opinion of prisoners being able to vote?

    The answer to both is: No, I did not, and No, you did not.

    You are having a one sided argument based on your own preconceived notions of my opinion because it's simpler to argue with an idea in your head than with what a person has said.

    I said that people who have the means to vote, should vote. I did not say voting was the only solution to fascism. I said it was one of the many tools we have access to. Prisoners in the USA, are not voters. They do not have that tool, ergo this argument you are trying to have is null and void.

    You want to have a talk about if prisoners should be able to vote? Sure, I'm all ears. In fact, I'm sure we agree that they should have a say. We may even both believe in prison abolishin. Hard to say when youre arguing with a boogie man. That does not change the fact that prisoners being able to vote is a completely different discussion than actual voters, the group of people the comment was directed towards.

  • The social media campaign where he parodies Trump, the continual courtship he tries to have of the "median voter" who hates pronouns and gay people. The fact that he has been trying to get on the 2028 ballot since 5 minutes after the 2024 race was called for Trump. He's trying to be a libtrump. He's getting his name in the press, saying and doing absurd things (for a leftist, such as his disapproval of various trans issues), and the fact that his social media is always doing something in response, instead of actual action to help those in need.

    Newsomes 2028 is very similar to Trumps 2016 imho.

  • But the post itself is not a call to action. It is "You are privileged and other people are less fortunate." Why make a post that hopefully makes introspection when you could make a post that will make introspection. Signal boost strategies, or groups or whatever that promotes praxis to those who are not aware.

    Like the other commentor said, this just makes me want to kill myself for having the ability to decompress and distract myself.

  • I'm not sure what the goal of the post is other than making people who have slightly more than others feel bad for having slightly more under a system in which no one has any control except the top minority. This feels more like a post to insight infighting, rather than a post that tries to bring the knowledge to light in a way that is actionable for the slightly more fortunate.
