A middle-aged nerd from the UK. I like films and write about them, sometimes for Film Stories or my blog.

Have a great day.

  • Once you accept that in this world physics don't apply, they're two fantastic action films.

  • Yeah, it's a sequel with several of the cast from the 2021 film returning.

  • This is a sequel to a reboot.

    Then it was rebooted.

  • The technology behind these films are amazing and they're quite entertaining. Personally, I'd like to see Cameron move onto other projects.

  • One of the biggest issues was possibly dropping the "of Mars" from the title.

  • I think the problem with Solo is that it was released just a few months after The Last Jedi. People were possibly Star Wars fatigued by this point. (Just speculation)

Disney were releasing one film a year, Force Awakens (2015), Rogue One (2016) and The Last Jedi (2017). Each film was released in December of their respective years, including Rise of Skywalker which came out in 2019. Why release Solo in March?

Considering the drastic reshoots and production issues to get the film done, I would've thought aligning the film to December would've of given production more time to breathe. PS I would love to see more of the footage shot by Lord & Miller, but just like the Rogue One reshoots, that's locked in the Disney vault, never to be seen.

PS - I really like Solo as a movie. It's a lot of fun and I own it on 4K!

  • You had to kill enemies and then stab them with a special dagger to extract special sand that filled up an on screen guage.

That guage represented how far back you could rewind the game if you died or did something you wanted to undo.

My favourite part about this is that the entire story of the game is a giant flashback story as told by the prince.

Every time you died, the prince would say something like, "No, no, no, that's not what happened. Let me tell the story again."

  • Yep! Definitely had those in the house back in the day. I'm pretty sure there were a few even cheaper versions mixed in that were made from coloured paper as well.

The Odyssey | Official Trailer (Universal Pictures) - HD

  • That's a great build...and keep it away from me! 🫣😁

  • This looks like fun and a great teaser too. It's got me interested, I won't watch anymore as I guess the next trailers will probably spoil stuff.

  • If you enjoyed that, search out the other [Famous Play/Show] Goes Wrong episodes.

Each one is really funny and based on a different theme. I remember one based on a World War II drama and another on Peter Pan.

They did or do have a show in London, last I saw on Instagram it was based on spies.

  • It's not you, that show is not currently available to watch.

  • In regards to Star Wars, I remember watching the behind the scenes documentary on the Phantom Menace DVD where you get to see them auditioning child actors for the part of Anakin.

Specifically, you watch them screen test the final three kids, one of which is obviously Jake Lloyd.

In my opinion he was second place of the three, I could never understand why George chose him.

  • I've been very picky about music players over the years. Basically for decades (well, maybe not that long) it was PowerAmp, ever since I had my HTC Hero on Android 1.5.

Then when I got into the whole Open Source thing, I chose Musicolet and loved it, even donated to the author.

Sadly, on my latest phone which seems to have incredibly strict memory/power settings, I had to stop using Musicolet. The phone would kill the player a sing or two into listening no matter what tricks I would use to try and stop it happening.

Now I'm using Phocid which has never been killed while in use.

And I keep all my music in finders, correctly named and tagged with MP3Tag and MusicBee because, you know, Autism. 😁

  • 25 years, eh! I remember excitedly downloading the very first trailer which was a mixture of early footage and behind the scenes material. I think that was about 18 months before the first film was released.

  • I don't think I entirely understood what the hell was going on in Control but I really enjoyed playing it. The way they integrated Alan Wake into the story was brilliant.

Hopefully, this will be just as much fun to play and maybe even understand... 🤣
