Have you ever considered that the Prime Directive is not only not ethical, but also illogical, and perhaps morally indefensible?

  • That's an interesting question. The way I understand it, provincial and municipal finances are pretty silo'd, which is why the cities are constantly lobbying for more (or at least different) taxation powers.

But I suppose grants and stuff like that could be affected, like you said.

  • Yeah, I can't think of much to add. I'm a very casual player at this point, but I've always enjoyed the story content.

  • It's Canadian acting icon Callum Keith Rennie (possibly best known as BSG's Leoben) playing a Kellerun.

He does have some Daniel Craig energy, though.

Sadly, the chances of a last-minute renewal are nil at this point - the sets have been dismantled.

  • It's technically been cancelled, but there's a ten-episode fourth season and a five-episode fifth season on the way first.

  • "Zed" now and forever.

  • His framing isn't quite what the headline may imply - he's just saying the US should probably stop waging trade wars.

  • I don't think so. Just unfortunate.

  • The freeze/thaw cycle this year has been ridiculous - I won't be surprised if we see a few more of these things.

  • godzilla was dead the whole time

  • To be clear, this is about making proactive concessions before the actual negotiations begin, not a cash payment (which would not have surprised me, and I expected based on the headline).

  • Hmm. I'd think that would be federal jurisdiction, so I'll be interested to see what comes of that. It doesn't seem like the sort of thing he would pay around with.

  • Yeah, she's from Vancouver, so it's interesting that she was inspired enough by Manitoba to set a story here.

  • I wish we had those numbers here.

I am a co-leader of a fleet that's existed...pretty much as long as fleets have existed in the game. Ironically, we're part of the REDit Alert armada - I'd be happy to shoot you an invite if you like.

  • The document that you referenced includes an independent audit that said their finances are in accordance with Canadian standards for non-profits.

Hell, the payroll you're referring to would cover the wages of about eleven people earning a median full-time income. Nothing about this seems outrageous to me.

  • More or less, with a couple of caveats (Wikipedia was helpful here).

    1. Teams don't start accumulating points until they're officially eliminated from the playoffs.

    2. The worst teams are eliminated first, and therefore play more games in which they can earn points.

  • Not overly, no.

  • What percentage would you expect from most charities?

  • I gathered there was some bad blood when he was let go last year - I'm glad they were able to move past it.
