  • The Toddler-in-Chief handed the mic over to the Compulsive-Liar-in Chief

  • It has to be difficult to write serious analyses of ongoing political issues when the PotUS just babbles whatever wishful thinking, delusions or lies appeal to him at any given second.

  • When I wrote that post, I was pretty sure that somebody would try to do an end run on "2+2=5 is wrong" to try to undermine the point.

There are just too many people , especially on the internet, who have based their self-affirmation on ad hominem for an illustration of its inherent failure to go unchallenged.

  • I guess maybe. But it's not anything relevant.

    Consider:

If someone says that 2+2=4, they're right.

If someone says that 2+2=5, they're wrong.

If the person who says that 2+2=4 is a blithering idiot and a compulsive liar, they're still right.

If the person who says that 2+2=5 is a world-renowned mathematical genius, they're still wrong.

And if you base your choice between those competing claims on the people who make them rather than analyzing the claims themselves, you'll be wrong too.

  • pronunciation is secondary if you get the concept

That's a really basic form of intellectual generosity, and intellectual generosity is one key to effective critical thinking.

The idea is the only thing that really matters.

People who reject an idea out of hand because they find fault with the presentation (for example) actually do themselves a disservice.

  • HOAs exist solely so that priggish twats who obsess about what the neighbors are doing can actually throw their miniscule weight around rather than, as they should be, being relegated to merely standing in their living rooms, glaring through their windows and bitching ineffectually.

  • Uh huh... we already heard it all in 2024.

    You need a new schtick.

  • Everything.

She's a Russian stooge who's inserted into the race specifically to split the leftist vote.

  • Vote for Jill Stein....

So what's the theory here? Voting for a fake leftist with a (G) after her name is better than voting for a fake leftist with a (D) after their name?

  • Asking the pot if the kettle is black.

  • That's Russell Vought, co-author and principal architect of Project 2025.

Or in other words, Russell Vought, fascist piece of shit.

  • Made doubly foul by the fact that most of the shitweasels responsible for it aren't even taxpayers. They're tax-dodgers.

  • I didn't know there were "expert" royal-obsessed twats

  • I don't think it's so much that he's gotten so obviously insane that more people are noticing it, but that he's gotten so obviously insane that fewer people can keep pretending he's not.

  • What a weird but entirely unsurprising headline.

Thay just call it "fighting in Lebanon," as if it's some sort of unwelcome natural event, like flooding or forest fires

An honest headline should ar least somehow acknowledge that the actual problem is that the fucking Israeli psychopaths refuse to stop destroying infrastructure and murdering civilians in their push to steal land from Lebanon.

  • Ken Martin - "I have made my position on this clear from day one: We must end the influence of dark money in our politics and restore power back to the people.”

No. In fact, you have made it clear, and yet again with this vote, that your position is that you must make mealy-mouthed quasi-promises to end the influence of dark money, but then consistently fail to actually do anything at all meaningful that might actually accomplish anything toward that goal.

  • Many (most?) people have always relied on somebody or something else to do the thinking for them.

AI can just be added to the long, long list of sources people so inclined uncritically accept.

  • None to speak of.

I'm pretty sure I have some from almost random pointd throughout at least a good part of my life squirreled away somewhere, but I couldn't tell you where.

My favorite ex-girlfriend has a bajillion pictures of me, since she takes photos constantly and always wants people in them, so I was the most common subject for a time. I never even really looked at them then though, and now they're on the other side of the country (though if they were here, I still probably wouldn't look at them).

It's not so much that I dislike them or anything - I've just never really seen the point, and never even really think about it.

  • Just your daily reminder that the President of the United States is not only a deranged lunatic, but an emotionally stunted imbecile as well.
