  • Look at the image I've attached. The stars are clearly messed up. It's the same thing I usually see in gen AI stuff: when there's a repeating pattern, it tends to fall out of sequence near a visual border. In this case, the stars get bunched up and new ones added close to flag just to the left.

Perhaps AI was only used to enhance the image? Or it's a homemade flag?

Edit: It's true that not everything is AI. There's a nonzero chance that the flag is warped, which is causing the pattern break, or something else created artifacts. It's just really hard to trust anything right now, no matter the source.

  • Are those photos AI? Look at the US flag in the top image (not the prominent flag, the tiny one in the distance above the guy shouting with his arms up). Look closely at the stars... they make no sense!

We are going to have a near-complete filter over everything we see online, aren't we? The data centers need to not exist anymore >:|

  • I'm guessing you're referencing the Hamas Charter. It has since been updated:

While the 1988 Hamas Charter had been widely criticized for its antisemitism, the 2017 document removed the antisemitic language and stated that Hamas' fight was not with Jews as such because of their religion but with the "Zionist project."[10][11][12][13][14][15] When asked, Hamas leaders explained that "The original charter has now become a historical document and part of an earlier stage in our evolution. It will remain in the movement's bookshelf as a record of our past."[16]

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Hamas_charter

They haven't fully repudiated the old charter, though, so there's that. But I can't fault them for trying to push back against the "Zionist project." Anyone would fight for their right to continue living on their ancestral lands, if threatened.

  • Thank you, I will definitely check those out.

It also seems I can root my phone, but I'd rather not go that route until absolutely necessary (e.g. some future update that breaks side loading).

  • I turn off my phone every night, so I changed that back as soon as I found out.

They also messed with the navigation bar... Before, instead of having three buttons, you could have it display three lines at the bottom that you used by swiping upward. They did away with that, so now your only options are 1) the three regular buttons that are too easy to accidentally press and take up too much screen real estate, or 2) one line that is harder to use combined with a back functionality enabled by swiping from the left ir right sides of the screen. It's not only slower to use than the three lines, but it also results in accidentally going back when trying to scroll horizontally.

They could have left an option to keep the three lines, but no, they love reminding us we don't really own the devices we pay for >:|

  • Idk, but in this instance, we have Paul the Apostle to thank for Christians' submission to authority, no matter how vile it is:

Romans 13 1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

  • Here you go: https://archive.ph/1XWrP

For reference, the way you do it is:

    1. Copy the article's link
    2. Go to archive.ph and paste link in the second text field to search for an already-archived version
    3. If nothing comes up, paste the link in the first text field to archive the article (will take a few moments)
  • Definitely. It would have to be curated similarly to Wikipedia, with discussions, disclaimers and ample references. Also, it would need to be stressed that alternative medicines only be used as a last resort.

  • We need a fallback plan for when all else fails, since we obviously can't trust politicians and Big Pharma with our health. Wasn't there an open source project aimed at making the knowledge of how to synthesize drugs available to all? We need to build on that, and also a searchable database of naturally occurring compounds and their pharmacological effects. I want to be able to search a list drugs that might have similar effects to the ones I'm taking, just in case I don't get my Rxs refilled for whatever reason.

  • Heck, I still pirate it even though I bought it. (I didn't want the hassle of migrating my account after the Microsoft buyout.) PollyMC ftw!

  • Clonk! It's a 2D mining/strategy/base-building hybrid that was apparently more popular in Germany than other places. I actually paid to play it way back in '05, but it has since become freeware. It's got a particle sim (similar to Noita, but not as extensive) that plays into the scenarios well.

  • I didn't expect it to work, but I hoped it would. But then again, even if it did go through, it would be business as usual with Israel mistreating Palestinians the same way they have been for decades.

  • The FDA says the proposed rule will apply to traditional cigarettes, roll-your-own tobacco, cigars and pipe tobacco.

Argh! I've been smoking pipe tobacco this whole time to save money and avoid additives. Why not force companies to stop adding dangerous and unnecessary chemicals to their products? And if they care about people's health and the burden on the healthcare industry so much, why not try actually fixing the broken healthcare/insurance system?

I may have to try growing my own tobacco.

  • It is very stressful, especially coming from a more rural area. It doesn't get too snowy here, but it does go down below freezing in the winter months. I'll just have to get that room cleared one way or another.

Thanks for the interaction. Things are feeling less nightmarish than earlier.

  • It was just a small idle chat because I was out weeding at the time.

It's okay for us to clean the trailer, but we just can't throw out anything, and there's a lot of stuff.

We've got one room completely cleaned, but the other one is dark, making it hard to see. Both are almost completely without electricity. It's mainly just boxes piled up and black widows throughout. I know I need to make progress on the room before it gets truly cold, but I feel mentally stuck.

I'm so embarrssed and ashamed for losing my shit earlier. It's like I have no control when that happens. Nobody needs a lunatic living next door. I wish I could live in seclusion -_-

  • Just had a meltdown in the trailer park. Yelled and broke a coffee cup, splashed coffee everywhere.

Still sleeping on the porch, it's cold, my teeth have been hurting and I can't makeart or do anyrhing else I used to like. If I could off myself easily I probably would.

  • I think 'EEVEE Next' is just the project name for a bunch of modernized changes, but idk.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that's a good way to use geometry nodes for quick building layouts!

I wonder how difficult it would be to add floor moulding. It might involve needing to get edge data using a script, but it might also be possible to duplicate edges and find them using a special node group...
