  • I don't think anyone is spuiking how fantastic china is. They have serious flaws, but they have also had huge improvements in quality of life, poverty, engineering etc. Just to be clear also, China has taken such a staunch stance in nationalism since the bullfuckery of England, America and Japan.

  • But they're capitalists and beholden to shareholders and profits? They're not the same. I don't condone China's actions around privacy and control. But I also think it's erroneous to compare them to China.

  • Except China does it to drive national interest, the above forementioned people do it for personal wealth or power growth

  • Id say the "bro" in techbros is more derogatory in this definition.. like a techflog perhaps.

  • Seems like the military has already followed illegal orders (e.g. bombing the Venezuelan boats) . Don't think they're really interested in following the law.

  • Yeah that's an interesting take. It is political suicide to talk about taxing resources in any fashion.. so best to throw it out with a short time frame rather than letting resource companies run long term albo smear campaign. Now, having said that... If nothing gets taxed I'll flip the table

  • As much as I appreciate the charger “nose”, that’s a bad place to have it if you park close to the wall

Chances are because that's such a small car, there would be ample space to park away from a wall and still remain within a standard car footprint.

  • Absolute shit storm and money pit.

  • I paid $1200 for a 3 day conference which I think have significant other work related costs

  • Hmm, have you missed the last 6 weeks per chance ?

  • I've never really understood the rationale of increasing interest rates when inflation is being driven by international events rather than discretionary spending. Just seems dumb.

  • Seems convenient "never test anything.. because.. well.. there'll be no response"

  • Hmm.. and how far would you go to ensure your prediction is correct? Where were you at 10.30pm on the 15th of April.

  • This would only fly if there was an active war in Australia or maybe NZ ?

  • Well, to be fair to you. Even though the previous comment said know since the 80s, rooftop solar on households didn't really start in Australia until 2008 abs. From a climate change perspective, from ~1912 they knew coal increased atmosphere carbon

  • Anyone who says context doesn't matter, probably isn't worth wasting your time with the discussion.

  • Entire political spectrum means people from the far left, left, centre, right and far right support it (entire spectrum).. not that every single person does.

  • That, quite frankly, is an absolutely ridiculous take and horrifically disrespecting to cultures and individuals who have been victims of actual genocide.

  • I've always thought that the older generation should be able to sell their house and transfer the profits across to super without tax penalty (or maybe the standard 15%) . There's so many investors because there used to be a big push before super to grow your "nest egg", so understandably that generation should be supported to transition the plan.
