    All those symbols that have any actual occult meaning would be more appropriate in banishing or warding against possession than causing it. Smh, what are they even teaching mages these days?

    EDIT: While I'm no alchemical scholar, the first pseudo-alchemical symbol could be implying a precipitation of bismuth. Supposedly, alchemists referred to bismuth as silver in the process of maturing, so precipitation could be interpreted as hurrying that process, also suggesting use in warding.

    Can't find anything for the second, but funnily enough it's, roughly, used as a symbol of sobriety.
