  • I’m finishing my reread (as a listen) of The Locked Tomb series with Nina The Ninth.

    Balancing in there is a silly romance Apprentice to the Villan.

    I’m reading (very slowly) the second Redwall book “Mossflower”

  • I got shadow banned on Reddit. I suspect it’s because I kept using the old.reddit interface. I would have let some ads/suggested communities into my feed, but I hate infinite scrolling.

  • How plausible is a medical tricorder?

  • Honestly the way they used it, I always thought the tricorder was just the reading part of other diagnostic implements. Kind of an all in one CGM, implanted pacemaker, etc.

  • I am very very low contact with mine (at the request of my grandma) entirely happy with the decision. Congrats to everyone who has made the same decision.

  • I’m kinda the opposite of you. I use Face ID only for wallet functions on my phone. Everything else is pin/password, but that’s due to interpretations around right to remain silent.

    I am not careful about being recorded. I do press random numbers on my door lock keypad.

  • What is a big internal debate within a fandom or hobby you are a part of that outsiders probably wouldn't care about?

  • I tell people all the time for moving that nursing homes have the best boxes if you don’t mind it saying weird things like xxl adult diapers. Probably also true for killing preventing weeds/grass.

    This astounds me. I've heard over and over again that "the waiting lists" in univeral health care countries kill people. But when I have an active bladder infection and I call the GP group (because goodness knows I've rarely seen the same provider twice), the best they can do is to "squeeze me in" eight days later.

  • I recently got an adult paint by numbers from a clearance rack at a hobby store. I’ve put WAY more time into it than I expected. I’m really loving having it to do while doing other more mentally engaging things.
