  • I am also non US but I suspect it is because the more money and influence you have the justice system will bend over backwards to make sure the no innocent person is put in prison. For the rest of the people they can rot in hell for no reason sometimes... In Europe they don't really imprison the really corrupt but at least you don't see them anymore...

    But this just reinforces that old saying that when a moron dumps a big rock in a lake it takes many months and years to take it out and it will not be the same anyway.

  • oh boy if it was that simple. not how it was where you are if you have these programs but if it was up to the electricity companies these PVs would never be implemented. they hate them with a passion and tried to put so many conditions. this thing with the platform is one of them. although they have the means to measure how much excess energy i put into the grid they want to keep an eye on it with this platform. they also increase the grid voltage such that when you have a good day with no clouds the grid voltage raises quickly above the protection limit of these huawei inverters and they enter a protection state which effectively takes them offline. all this is to prevent you putting energy into the grid. i manage to overcome this with HA magic but it is really annoying. i don't care about getting money back for what i put in I just want to be a bit more independent of them. They are a bunch of idiots looking to make money at any cost.

  • Huawei has this platform where each user has an account where you can see the system set it up make changes etc. this is needed I think for the first setup but afterwards it is useless. Then the agency that did the program has another account where it sees all the inverters that were installed and monitors them or something. This is mandatory for the implementation period which is 5 years I think. After that I am hoping I get to disconnect it from the internet. I am using home assistant to manage the inverter via modbus and I don't need anything else from huawei

  • I got my PV from a national program that insists it needs to monitor the output and some other bullshit through an online platform. So I have to keep the damn thing connected to the internet. The inverter is Huawei 😐

  • I am not sure about this one... I see it like this: the tribes in the Amazon and the engineers who can build rockets have different types of intelligence. First ones can't build rockets but can survive and navigate the jungle where the rocket guys will die almost immediately. But a stupid person from both groups will look almost the same because it will ignore basic knowledge and will fail to apply simple logic in a situation that will lead to harm or some other disaster.

  • I also disagree with the purification part. There is nothing to purify because I don't believe that stupidity is genetic. It is educated. And education is the cure. And by that I don't just mean school! Education doesn't end when school ends. It is lifelong. It is a constant observation of what goes on around you and learning from the small mistakes to avoid bigger ones. It is much to discuss on this subject

  • I don't cheer. But it happens and there is nothing to be done. We have enough systems in place to prevent such instances but people seem to work very hard to circumvent these systems... Just think of all the warning labels and all the rules we have in place and yet when an idiot tells people raw milk is perfectly safe they just go do it... What more can any society do to prevent this? At some point it is not happiness but relief because after all the progress and all the energy that was put in pushing the civilisation to where it is now, there are people out there that are willing and they do die on hills like flat earth, raw milk, antivax and on and on...
