  • Women of both parties were less likely to support a return to traditional gender roles than men. Support for a return to traditional gender roles was highest among Republican men at 87 percent, followed by Republican women at 79 percent. Democratic women were the least likely to support a return to traditional gender roles — 21 percent do, compared with 26 percent of Democratic men.

    Yikes, now that's a culture shock to me. That even one in five democratic women want to return to having to slave away at home with no economic independence and having to rely on the goodwill of their spouse and forcing the spouse to be solely responsible for all their economical needs for that matter.I want an equal partner, that's for sure.

  • The battery recalls on 4a and 6a for one, I believe you get more RAM, better camera and most importantly better QC on an 8 Pro compared to 9a if the past still holds true.

  • On a larger scale? Through organizing and engaging in communities, politics and unions. No one can stop it alone.

    On a personal scale?Stop consuming more than you need. Maintain what you already own. Don't buy it because it's better than what you have, if what you have is already good enough. Buy second hand when you can. Lend and loan with friends when it comes to seldomly used tools.

    Buy maintainable stuff instead of the cheap copy that has no repairability (Think of the boots theory and don't get tricked into spending more in the long term just to spend less now).

    And the hardest bit would be to stop comparing yourself and your life with that of those around you, I think that the rat race is the main driver of consumption together with all that wealth peacocking.

    1. Downvotes, as they are used as "disagree" not "this is off topic/irrelevant". I think it only limits discussion as it is.
    2. The need to double space rows for newline, as it makes copy pasting text from other sources a chore.
    3. Nicknames replacing usernames, I dont mind the nicks but I'd like an option that also shows the /u/username so I know who I talk to. Does that count?

  • Helt seriöst så ser jag /c/sweden som en brasa som aldrig riktigt tog sig innan man stängde till så nu dör den av syrebrist.

    En morgon som denna har vi ~1000 samtidiga användare på /r/sweden att jämföra med 37 besökare om dagen på /c/sweden.Vi har ett gäng eldsjälar här som ser till att det kommer lite trådar att snacka i men det räcker inte riktigt till. Själv är jag inte en av dem, det var länge sedan jag bidrog.

    Ska vi få fart på /c/sweden behövs det fler trådar att diskutera i och att de som är här lyckas rekrytera fler besökare.
