  • Idk I think leave this guy in the past. He's a relic of the Cold War. We don't need that propaganda anymore. There's so many other, better dystopian fiction books out there that haven't received their "definitive" adaptations, plus other more interesting original concepts people can do. Besides, maybe what people really need right now is people believing a better world is possible rather than accepting a crap one.

  • It being from 2007 feels like some Lamarckist text or something, like someone who's very early in writing about a lot of these issues but gets stuff wrong and uses some terms that are completely alien to the contemporary queer lexicon.

    I will say, even as a non-binary person, that we should always be wary of being disparaging or alienating towards people who to connect with the gender binary, not saying we have a tendency to be, but I can see why it comes across that way sometimes.

    There is a real radicalism behind rejection of the gender binary and a lot of people just aren't ready for that (but their kids are gonna love it).
