  • I use an auto siphon, sanitizing everything of course. Primary had freefloating raspberries, then same with secondary when backsweetening. Racked to tertiary after a week and that’s when this appeared, and I had never seen that before in a batch.

    You make a great point in that I could definitely just scoop it out, then if it returns I have my answer. Thank you!

  • Windows 10 was absolutely not a miracle on launch, it had its own host of problems that got fixed or ‘features’ removed over time. I distinctly remember the indexing and search being completely worthless for the first year. Forums were filled with posters declaring they’d hold onto Windows 7 until their PC crumbled to dust, and then they would finally switch to Linux. Such is the cycle of Windows releases.

  • This is a terrain piece/model from Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Comes on a grey sprue that needs to be cut out and assembled, then painted. Tons of ways to go about it. Google Realm-Shaper Engine for how other folks paint it.

    I use a mix of Citadel and Vallejo acrylic paints, and regular brushes from the local craft store.

  • Even though I feel like I've painted a thousand lizards I still don't feel like I have a grasp on how I should be doing the underbelly. They have little slits for where one might think nuln oil would slip right in and make it all look nice, but instead it's a fight to prevent pooling. If anyone has advice or a video on how to do that better I would really appreciate.

    Then for my list, I have slann starmaster, 10 saurus warriors, 3 kroxigor, oldblood on carnosaur, now these guys. Next up I'm painting skink starseer and skink starpriest, then the old warcry squad that came with the 2023 battleforce. After that, I'm not sure if I should pick up more krox to make the warspawned, raptadons, or if I need to get that faction terrain piece. Played some spearhead but never full AoS, so would also appreciate any insight on how I can best prepare a decent army.

  • So how would one start checking Warhammer without any prior knowledge?

  • The Infinite and the Divine. Follows two Necrons, but you don’t need to know anything at all about them or 40K beforehand. It’s standalone, but connects with another set of books should you want more. It eases you into the density of the lore, while having the over the top charm we love about 40K.

    Having read I don’t know how many warhammer books at this point I disagree with the Eisenhorn starting point. It’s good, but if you’ve read any sci/fi fantasy novel in the last 20 years then you’ve basically read Eisenhorn, but now it has a 40K paint job. Follows humans, which granted are interesting in the universe, but we’ve read enough about humans check out some immortal space robot mummies instead!

  • This is an interesting take because I would expect the complete opposite. I find it extremely tedious when AAA games force the player into situations where they have to climb or walk slowly so they can pan the camera to whatever fancy graphical set piece their art team made, and more time doing that then any gameplay. Why not just watch a movie at that point?

    When playing a game I want a game. It’d be incredibly frustrating if every time I solved a square in Sudoku I had to then watch an episode of a TV show. Heartening to hear AAA is swinging back the other way and wasting less time.

  • Thanks! The wings were the first thing I did, felt most comfortable for what I was going to do with them and how, having done similar for other daemons in my army. Knocked that out quick. I spent the rest of the paint time being indecisive on how to do the skin, heads, greebles, and ya know, everything. Repainted soooo many times while avoiding touching the wings with all might
