  • Isn't it easier to come up with a way to share the passphrase or key file for the encrypted photos in the case of your death? Don't get me wrong though, there are many pros to unencrypted photos, but the con of having them leaked to the internet in case the server(s) are compromised weighs far heavier than the pros unfortunately. At least when it comes to hosting them on a VPS.

    There's not even a file declaring the license, nor any APK releases to download so it seems like you can't get it outside of the Google Play store.

  • At rest disk encryption is super easy to set up, but that's different from E2EE. Key management and encryption should happen client side.

  • Sure, but as far as I can tell its E2EE implementation is subpar. There are ton of providers that offer NC hosting, including Hetzner, but my main concern is encryption. Do you have any experience with it?

  • I've been hesitant to use Syncthing since the whole drama a while ago, and I don't trust the current maintainer (it screams AI slop in my opinion). There are some alternative frontends for Android on F-Droid but there is not a lot of information about them.

  • I've used Arch on and off since around 2006 or so. I've used most distributions, including Gentoo, and in recent years things like Debian and atomic Fedora. I've settled for NixOS now though and I don't see it changing unless a better declarative OS/language comes along (Guix is a good contender with its Scheme).

  • Nowadays I only really use Jellyfin, but before that I exclusively used mpv. As for why, I just felt it worked a bit better (not sure if it has to do with codecs) and I liked how it suited terminal based workflows.

  • Path of Exile 2 might be relevant here, the Souls games were what first came to mind when they introduced dodge roll, and the eldritch horror aesthetic is certainly there (albeit to a lesser extent compared to Path of Exile 1). It's online though.

  • Om V är villiga att offra sina principer för riksdagsmandat så har de nog missförstått det där med demokrati. Poängen är ju att väljare ska söka sig till partier som representerar deras åsikter, inte att partier ska modifiera sina åsikter för att få röster. Visst kan sakpolitik ändras över tid, men nu börjar ju det socialistiska fundamentet att försvinna från partiet. Grundläggande principer. Om de blir ett nytt S så finns det ju inte länge någon anledning att rösta på dem. S finns ju redan.
