Blisscast and EmeraldDM8 run the Blisscast Journal

We love writing articles about gaming and vintage technology! 100% Human made, no AI involved!

  • First of all, I've fixed the first one. Secondly, this is a series written in chronological order, and we have a long way before reaching NT, which will be covered in a future Episode. Lastly, this is a series mostly focused on the GUI aspect, which means that, sometimes, I might not include some unrelated information.

  • I'm really sorry if you found any mistakes, the human behind this post (me) would really like to correct them. Which bits are wrong exactly?

  • Sorry for the late reply! I really loved the characters too, especially Akiho (yeah, the article gives that away pretty quickly lol)! And yes, you definitely need a guide, I really have no idea how that system works... I don't usually mind checking a guide, but I guess that might be a problem for some people.

About Dash, when I tried it, I felt it clashed with how characters were portrayed in the prequel, but apparently, that might be due to an imprecise translation; you should definitely try it with the Committee of Zero patch, as that fixes the translation and consistency issues with the rest of the series. Personally, I've played most of the games without the patches, as they're only on Steam, but I can see why people enjoy them! Maybe that will make you want to try Dash?

  • Personally, that was a bit I enjoyed, but it's also true that I played the updated version, so maybe that was part of it.

  • Sorry for the double submission, must have been a bug.

  • I'll definitely give Winboat a try, since I need to get MP3tag and Clip Studio Paint working at some point. I'll also install Cooler Control, just in case. Thank you so much for the help!

  • Thank you! I ended up adding more fans after the build was done, so I think I fixed whatever issues I was having. I'll definitely try those two programs tho, as Wine still refuses to work...

  • Thank you! EndeavourOS seems very friendly in general, and I'm really enjoying it so far. It also seems to lack the usual dose of Arch elitists, which is even better.

  • yay is already a shortcut for that, but thanks

  • I agree! I'm enjoying it so far, both on this and my other devices.

  • Thank you! I'll definitely have a look at those, perhaps they'll give me some inspiration for my new Endeavour OS installation.

I'll definitely keep on writing this, as I'd like to hopefully reach Windows Vista (and its fascinating beta, Longhorn), and maybe even 8, we'll see. It will take a while, but I'll get there!

  • Thank you! You're right, I'm too young to have been there at the time, but I'm deeply fascinated by these things, and would like to share them with a new audience as well! It's always amazing to read comments written by people who were there at the time, and see new perspectives!

I managed to obtain an SGI Indy, but I haven't done much with it yet, I'll have to research it a bit more. As for Enlightenment, that will be for a future Episode about the rest of X Window System, there were simply too many to include in this one.

    Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Thank you so much! EmeraldDM8, the one who built the UI, thanks you a lot as well.

  • It depends on how much detail you want to understand. You can play Steins;Gate and Robotics;Notes on their own, but they are best understood after playing Chaos;Head (personally, I played C;H after them). Chaos;Child necessarily follows Chaos;Head. For Occultic;Nine, you can read it with no prior knowledge, as far as I've seen. For Anonymous;Code, you need Steins;Gate at the bare minimum, and at least a decent summary of Chaos;Head's themes. Anything more is just added references that you'll be able to get.

Don't feel threatened and jump in!

  • your loss

  • I'm really glad that you enjoyed it! Part 2 should be coming relatively soon, and as I write this, EmeraldDM8 is working on further improving the UI!

  • Well given the reaction here, I will be surely avoiding this community. Everywhere else, I've gotten many positive comments.

  • Very true! At least problems are solvable though!

  • Thank you so much!! 😄
