  • Absolutely. Thanks for the feedback. No idea if I’m posting into a void

  • The devs label it as a metroidvania, and a lot of reviews mention it as a Zelda-like, but people who’ve played it say it straddles an already thin line between the genres.

  • Same with me on Grime 1.

In my opinion, avoid “MÍO: Memories in Orbit” if you’re not a fan of platforming. I had to avoid some pretty big areas of that game for how seriously hard some of the platforming challenges were.

  • The first Grime was 2021, so 3 years prior to PoP. But playing both, they play very differently and didn’t feel visually similar. I can see what you’re saying in the lighting and shaders.

There are demos for both Grime games, so it could be a good way to get a feel for them

  • They 100% should play Jackie Wilson’s “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher” at the event as a nod.

  • I really liked that Nine Sols had an difficulty slider. It was much harder for me than Hollow Knight, but I could adjust the slider instead of banging my head against the wall. I sometimes can enjoy the satisfaction of completing something tough, but I have limited time to play games and it’s getting trickier with a young child.

  • 😏 just a little…

I have a 15-month-old, so I’m going to hire a full time au-pair so I can play this game.

  • That’s my description. The mechanic is something I haven’t heard of before. It may be gimmicky, but we’ll see…

  • It seems like it, but isn’t crystal clear. The Steam listing has “online co-op” listed, but Artplay doesn’t talk about it in their press. I’ve seen other places highlight it, but they could be mistaken.

  • Thanks! How are you viewing it when you use Lemmy? In a browser? Voyager? Curious as I don’t think playback is consistent across platforms.

  • The Early Access reviews are “mostly positive”, so here’s to hoping they iron out the kinks. I like the style, but will be cautiously optimistic until I see the final reviews.

  • Last year felt like the best year for releases, and this year has a ton of bangers already and may end up beating 2024.

There are some great releases on the horizon. I’m about to post about the new Metroid and the dystopian Pac-Man metroidvania.

    Good times.

  • Fixed. Thanks!
