I definitely prefer Mirror’s Edge 1, and Catalyst was my first so it’s not because of nostalgia. I just think 1 was done much better. But Catalyst is still a really fun game, and definitely worth it on sale. Just don’t expect it to be as good
My girlfriend loves to watch me play games. She likes to do “comms” as she says, where she researches tough boss guides, cool weapon locations, etc while I play. It’s interactive for her, and she doesn’t have to learn how to play the game (she doesn’t enjoy most video games and finds them frustrating). One of her favourites was Elden Ring, but really any RPG is a ton of fun for her. My dad used to watch me play video games sometimes too when I was younger, and he liked the Fallout games specifically.
Sekiro is my favourite game. Once you complete it 100% though you’ll struggle to find something to compare, which sorta sucks. I wish there were more games like Sekiro
I haven’t had much time for games lately unfortunately but when I have found a few minutes here or there, I finally started Morrowind. I’m thinking of making a post about it soon, but it’s still an awesome game 21 years later
At least home wifi isn’t as insane as cellular here I guess. We get American ads on the break room TV at work, their cellular plans are pennies compared to what we have to pay north of the border
If you’re still looking for more games to check out, watch Iron Pineapple on YouTube. He’s got a whole series dedicated to lesser known souls-likes. A lot of them are bad but there’s some good stuff in there too. He’s got great criticisms and generally tries to stay positive even with the bad games. Highly recommended

I like this line of thinking and hope we get more of it. Feels like a lot of people on this community are of the mindset that you have to either go all the way with online privacy or not at all. Going all in isn’t practical for the average individual and can scare people off. It’s just not worth it for a lot of people in their minds. Most people probably like the idea of privacy but aren’t willing to change phones and operating systems, use a completely different set of services, all that. I think we should focus on trying to help someone with what they’ve got rather than telling them they have to completely change the way they operate online. Give a list of settings to tweak, suggest an ad blocker, suggest alternative services but don’t make it sound mandatory, and don’t berate someone for using an iPhone or watching YouTube for example. Acting like that will probably scare people away and make them not want to interact with the community which would be a shame. It would also probably lead to them continuing to do mad online habits because they left before they could get educated. I think it’s about balance. Being slightly less anonymous online might be worth it if it means a considerably smoother experience, for the average person
