  • Prostate cancer is really easy to treat and delay, unfortunately. I have a family member dealing with it right now, very late stage, and its still extremely treatable.

  • Two full time working parents while raising little kids, having to help care for aging parents and help them navigate the health system is exhausting. I'm supposed to be enjoying my 40s, were financially set at least, but I still feel like I'm stuck in an endless grind. American dream.

  • Did mine early March and I'm still waiting for the Feds to give me my money. Where's my money?!

  • Actually I think people advocating for better policing instead of just deepthroating “cops good” makes the problem better.

Where did I 'deep throat cops good'? You are sensitive and over reacting to a simple utterance and appreciation that cops are both good and bad. All people, all things, are some mix of good and bad and various ratios.

The solution is simple, if you want people to respect police, the police need to become respectable. As it stands they can abuse you with near impunity, so they get fear and disdain.

This is the only thing you've said I've agreed with, but what exactly are you going to do about it? You ask why am I more concerned with the the fear and disdain; because it causes apathy. Apathy breeds indifference and/or hopelessness which doesn't solve any problems but propagates it. You appear firmly in the apathetic camp, its whats wrong with this country and politics in general. I'm not pretending I have the solution but the first step to moving in any direction is appreciating the subtly of everything and stop pretending its all so simple as black and white.

  • Ok so all police are bad, even if there are good hearted individuals that try to make a difference in a community, just because they joined a police force. I find that logic silly and extremely rigid, but fine. What exactly is your alternative? What should be happening instead? Maintaining a basic rule of law and society is kind of important, and as fucked up police forces are they're fulfilling some of the tasks. The problem is more about how to have accountability in police forces, not just wholesale disenfranchisement. Divisive dismissing of any race, group, organization or entity isn't helpful and is ignorant. It makes the problems worst, not better. You become what you loathe.

  • No one hears you when you shout in your own echo chamber.

  • The world is not black and white, painting a black picture of a whole group, without middle ground, is ignorant and unhelpful. This is coming frame a raging liberal. Be rationale, intelligent, not reactive.

  • Cops are human, and like all humans they can make mistakes and have flaws just like us. Yes their jobs is to protect us but its OK to ask questions.

  • I think the biggest magic of induction is ease of cleaning. Nothing gets burned on, ever. Just a spray of cleaner, wipe, move on. Saved me hours a year.

  • Picture a rock getting thrown into a body of water and its ripples. Now just scale that up to 3 dimensions and all materials and you have RF!

  • Driving on the road with humans and highway driving. Humans are remarkably stupid and volatile and yet, by and large, driving is remarkably reliable and safe despit the fact everyone is controlling a 3000+ lb weapon whilr distracted by thoughts and their phones. It blows my mind.

  • Debian also for decades but started with Slack in the late 90s. Hello Linux buddy!

  • I have it available via a reverse proxy with vouch proxy enabled for 2FA.

  • Those poke in connectors are usually just a wedge/V shaped piece of metal that grabs the wire. If the plastic tab broke off you should see the V, stick in a small flat head and twist it until it releases the wire. Oherwise just pressing the button should release it, just jiggle the wire loose, forward and backward while pressing down.

  • I was not expecting Assembly Row to pop up. My wife used to work for that developer and helped build and open that place. It was way too much work, would not recommend, do not like that property! But I hope the chowder was good :)

  • Agreed but they're now scared of it. They're in my yard daily, 3-5 at a time and so far so good.

  • Not entirely the same as you but I recently moved to a new property with 2000 acres (900 acres ) of protected forest behind me. The deer are out of control and extremely over populated due to no one hunting. I wanted to setup a very large garden and orchard so ive experimented with simple solar powered electric fencing and so far its worked 100%. Just simple fence posts made from pine saplings, I screw the insulator into them and run 3 rows of wire. Once is about 6" off the ground for small animals like rabbits. The second row is 2ft off the ground and third row is 3 ft. The deer get zapped once and learn 'dont touch'. I watched them all fall eating grass along the fence but never did they try the other side.

  • Can you explain how hes being a dickhead? Hes being very factual/logical and everyone else is downvoting him to oblivion. Hes just debating the fact that wearing proper clothing avoids the need to burn energy wastfully for a partial solution.
