  • I've always had a utilitarian approach, so I don't have a problem with AI. I don't have an issue with people using it to perform time consuming mundane tasks like social media images, rewriting text, and whatnot.

Sadly, that also applies to Customer Support. I've worked in email and chat support for a couple of years and I knew a long time ago that if they're a little more blase when it comes to customers, they could just use a bot and not pay anyone. We're literally trained to pretty much give people the run around and throw boiler plate replies with some personalization. So, you can easily program AI to automate that shit. Customers will still buy your products regardless.

  • Yeah our media tends to do that to rage bait. I pointed this out once and someone just told me that it's still the people's fault for their reading comprehension. Both can be true, but I still think you have a responsibility to write headlines properly and if they still react the wrong way then you can start faulting comprehension.

  • May mga free charging stations na yung government although konti lang. Tapos it's slow (sa UP Diliman daw 1hr and that's honestly too long) and will most like be a tambayan para sa mga buraot when they expand, like what happened with SM EV parking spots.

Tapos yung mga DC fast charging stations daw nasa 35 pesos per kw/h. If you do the math, that's 311 pesos just to match 1 liter of petrol. So hindi talaga siya cost-efficient unlike in other countries na mura kuryente or you have your own solar setup.

And tutal nangangarap lang din naman tayo - my dream is the Volvo EX90. Tapos hooked up sa solar panel-powered na type 3 charging? That is the life!

  • This has always been the plan BUT without a solar powered charger, halos ganun pa rin naman gastos dahil mahal ang kuryente.

If I have plenty of disposable income and the means to buy an electric car AND a solar charger, I would have done it years ago.

Iran assures the Philippines that it will allow Philippine-bound and Philippine-flagged ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

  • My 7-year-old is a savant because she stopped using Roblox last year on her own and found several other alternatives. Soon, the pedos are going to find their way there, if not already. And the old fucks in congress are only going to find out about it 10 years later before they ban those too, lol.

As a parent, I'm not bothered at all. As long as it doesn't affect her grades and how she behaves around others, I'm cool with it. Our parents let us play Mortal Kombat at the same age and watch Jason Vorhees movies, and we turned out okay. The only one I had to worry about was the parish priest, but I wasn't born yesterday you Caucasian fuck.

  • I'm surprisingly not against this, even before the fuel crisis.

China's not backing down from their claim and we're not too, and it's going to be a stalemate because no third party who intervenes would actually be able to force the other to stand down — so might as well compromise and begrudgingly share the resource.

  • Supposedly this news is fool's gold as we'll blow through that supply in just a few days, lol.

  • I'd say it's not a fair representation of what's happening. Traffic is still bad during rush hours and certain parts of the day. It's probably less congested on off-peak hours but who knows if that's just an anomaly or really from petrol prices.

It's certainly not like during the lockdown/pandemic. That was surreal, almost a throwback to how the streets looked like in the 90s.

  • I wasn't a fan of e-jeepneys and it's actually the reason why I quit my office job and did WFH. The problem with e-jeeps is that it was still prone to corruption and diskarte, to the detriment of passengers.

Unlike with traditional jeeps that they would fill up beyond capacity that only harms that one last unlucky schmuck that gets fooled into entering (and they still have the choice to not enter), an e-jeep hurts everyone because it's extremely hard to breath inside with the windows sealed shut and the aisles filled with standing passengers and the much-hyped aircon only set to the lowest.

I would much rather have the open jeeps and just have the governing body enforce rules that they keep it well maintained and upgrade to better engines that are not necessarily aircon. E-jeeps are fucking gimmicky and a joke.

  • I keep seeing posts about this so-called "empty Metro Manila" in social media and I'm just not seeing it.

The comparison photo is not a good example. The top photo is of EDSA (on what appears to be a rush hour) which is ALWAYS congested, while the one at the bottom is of a random highway in the city at a non-peak hour (you could tell from the many parked cars at the side and the lack of any passengers flagging jeeps).

Personally, it's still the same volume of vehicles (it's particularly worse on Monday mornings which has not changed one bit) when we're dropping off the kids at school which requires us to pass by the proverbial Killer Highway.

If there's one takeaway from the fuel crisis, it's that we've been conscious about how we expend fuel. Other than necessary trips (e.g. driving to work, dropping off kids), we pretty much eliminated everything else from our routine. No more malls, no picking up my sisters to spend the week with us, no Visita Inglesia this year, walking several blocks to do errands instead of driving, etc.

But of course, we're not everyone. There's still plenty of rich people that could afford petrol or EV owners with their affordable BYDs and Geely's (right down to the Teslas) who think they're exceptions.

  • I was once under the impression that our promoters could only get pop acts to go here. 20+ years later I keep seeing posts on FB showing that Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam, all went here during their peak, but I never knew. It's either they suck at getting the word out or I was an insulated child.

  • Napaka-lame naman kasi nitong mga ganitong stunts. It's literally Mar Roxas but done by some of the biggest cults in politics.

Ugali na ni Robredo ito going back to 2015 nung hindi niya sinipot yung SONA red carpet and just so conveniently happened to have someone taking her picture. Then there's the bus ride and now this.

Her fans go ga-ga over this despite being equal parts phony and bare minimum. As usual, magagalit mga DDS diyan who they themselves have their own share of fake pakitang-tao crap na binibida rin nila.

Kakaumay itong dalawang factions. Sana si Rissa na gawin nilang candidate wag na itong si Robredo and her legions of annoying fans.

  • I obviously disagree with Topacio and Suntay conflating words with thoughts and wish them the absolute hell for everything, but I do see some of the points Topacio raised. Not about Jasmine or Anne, those are just horribly bad arguments. But his point in general.

I've been seeing posts in social media of people telling that women should not be thought of in a male gaze way — but what type of reaction are you expecting when 99% of your posts are thirst-traps? If you post a photo facing away from the camera with your thong out as your skirt rides up while reaching over a cupboard — what type of reaction are you expecting? Are we going to pretend that the 900k male out of your 901k followers aren't following you specifically because they're gooners?

We're policing thoughts na kasi, and that's a slippery slope. Words (and most especially actions) is a completely different thing because that's a choice and governed by actual laws and even basic human decency. But thoughts? It's incredibly naive to expect men to think only of your inner beauty and radiant smile when posting suggestive pics.

  • I get a good laugh when people say Elyu is overrated or that "it used to be clean". My family is from SFLU and I'm there at least twice a year since the 80s. I've seen it grow from a quaint rural town to the populous spot that it is today rife with influencers and wannabe surfers. It was never clean. The water is bad, the sand is black, and it's dirty — and that's my take from the 90s. I'm surprised it exploded into this must-see destination in the last decade or so. It does have a Robinsons and SM now and all sorts of big city amenities, but that's hardly what I consider a tourist haven.

When I think of a tourist spot, I think of Tambobong or Calaguas. Not sure nga lang if those places have been gentrified already. But remember going there in 2009, and I felt like they were super underrated.
