  • I've not made it to the end but boy has it felt like this has been a wrap up season! I'm surprised there's a 4th announced.

  • Ya, I hate this, but I am not sure if it's just me getting older or just training, but I just watch what I watch and if it stops/never comes back oh well.

There are a few shows I'm still disappointed they ended early, but either TV just isn't as good now, I just don't care as much or maybe a bit of both...

  • To the surprise of nobody.

  • Our assistant speaker tells us... "Your shit's clean" and "Your shit's dry" a few minutes after the washer/dryer stop (just using power consumption stopping). Useful I guess but generally you can hear them stop. It was more for comedic value than anything else.

I have a couch light turn on when I sit down at a certain spot on the couch after sunset at 30% using an "Everything Presense sensor" totally to play with my wave tech

  • sorry, I don't log into my .world account often. I used a script that was floating around during the original drama. I'm not sure if it's still possible to effectively delete all your data now.

    Tough waking up to this

  • Thanks for the link... I'll check this out soon

    Life360 integration down?

  • Well, mine was a lot newer when I owned it. When I bought this one it had 30k miles on it. It was completely stock with a worn out suspension. I actually stumbled on it while visiting a friend. Made a lowish ball offer which was rejected so I bailed and went home when our trip was over. Got a call about a week later accepting my offer.

I had a ton of fun in this and my previous '92 Talon AWD. Going to the DSM shootouts, one year we got a tour of the DSM plant in Normal, IL... Good times!

And back then, this car was an absolute beast on the street. Embarrassed a lot of people :)

The car above ran the license plate "V8EATR" for a while and gained a pretty decent reputation locally.

  • My baby from the late 90's it was my second DSM (1994 Talon AWD, decently modded stock motor build) ran mid 12's in the 1/4 in full street trim, which was pretty fast back then :)

  • What are you using to track/control the screentime?

  • I do, and YouTube is my primary Media consumption for both video and music.

That said, I have the family plan which went from $15-23 back a few months ago and it was difficult to keep. I actually cancelled it and used Spotify and some of the available ad-blocking apps, but ultimately didn't like Spotify, so I came back.

If it were to go up again anytime remotely soon I'd be gone.

  • Had an account since about 2010, looks like I stopped using it around 2016. Just logged in to see what if anything was left. A few notes, nothing important.

Tried closing my account instead of just leaving it hanging out there and it fails. Guess I'll try later

  • I'm trying to support the change. I joined 6/11, I stopped visiting the other site the same time.

I created a community that didn't exist yet here (in the fediverse) and am trying to post /comment more then I would normally. I wasn't a lurker over there but I am more engaged here.

Long live the new(ish) fediverse :)

Edit: I also removed my content and deleted my 12yo account on 7/1

  • I quit artificial sweeteners last year. Just use real sugar in moderation. Seems to be working for me. Biggest change is switching to water to drink. Once you conquer that the rest is cake.

  • Ya, I'm not going back, I wrestled with deleting my content or not for weeks. Decided last night to wipe my history and today I deleted my 12yo account.

Good riddance, not gonna browse in any fashion logged in or not. No clicks from me.

  • Ive spent 98% of my time here in Lemmy vs. 2% since last night. I'm not deleting my reddit account just yet, but, overall like what I am seeing here. I'm also just trying to figure everything out here.

There are issues/worries about what happens when an instance goes away, where's that content go? Duplicate/fragmented communities on multiple instances.

I'm more worried about losing the CONTENT that we created on Reddit, etc as a historic/research tool if reddit fails completely. Lot of content with people helping others.

I see/saw a lot of talk about wiping your data before leaving... I'm sure if that happened in larg volumes, they have backups of that content. No idea what legal ramifications there are with restoring them though.

I'm in a wait and see, but w/o RIF I'm gonna be hard pressed to use reddit on my phone, and if old. Goes away that might end it for me.

  • I'm tracking my HVAC filter and rest it's 90days with an NFC tag

Loosely followed an online how-to to create a tracking chore list using NFC tags for my son's allowance. Automations to nag him on trash night to gather/take out the trash.

A simple Automation that turns on a fan in the basement when the outside temp is above out AC setting to help distribute cool basement air.

Outside security lights on/off at dusk/dawn

House auto arms/disarms (Alarmo) when everyone leaves or someone arrives (via life 360 integration)

On trash day, after noon if my son scans (NFC) one of the trash cans, the garage door opens to let him in/put them away.

My son gets a notification when he comes home from school if we got mail (aka the mailbox was opened that day)

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
