  • Prior work does not give you free license to come into this community and be an ass. You are bound by all of the same rules and expectations as all other posters. If that is not acceptable, you are free to go find (or create) a more suitable community to post in. Bigotry of any kind, for any reason, is unacceptable.

  • You come into this community with bad faith posts simply to start arguments, and are told you’re not welcome here. If you continue with said behavior, you will be banned. This has been your warning. Enjoy your evening!

  • Pretty sure I didn’t stutter.

  • Us Lemmy dudebros obviously cannot fully appreciate your level of rage-baiting.

So I’ll tell ya what: since we are too fragile for your upscale messaging, feel free to take it somewhere else. Your content, and you, are not welcome here at !comicstrips.

  • …I was responding to with a provocative statement….

You are clearly not articulate enough to make a clear statement that doesn’t come across as an attack. So how about this: don’t.

  • Gives “separating the saucer” a whole new meaning.

    Aye-yoooooo!

  • That warp core won’t eject itself.

  • By giving a rule, you are the one who decides what the line is. There is very little room for disagrrement since your opinion will be the one that is to be enforced.

I can assure you, this rule was made from the collective feedback of the community, other mods, and the .world admins.

I strive to take measured moderation actions only after careful consideration and listening to feedback.

  • Don’t give them any ideas!!! 🤣 😅 😡

  • They wanted to do this at my kids’ pediatrician’s office. We prompted out of that immediately.

  • It’s a difficult path to walk. Even things that were socially okay 5-10 years ago could be abhorrent today. Everything now is especially raw given the current rift between the different groups of certain people. And then there are those who like to poke the proverbial bear for whatever reasons they have, be it for attention, enjoyment, or because they are simply mean spirited. There are also those who do it unintentionally or without malice.

As I said to another commenter, it’s not black and white and will need to be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Personally, I find things like the origins of the Adamm’s Family comics interesting. The TV show and movies are staples of our culture, then and now; even if some of their original content was not up to our current standards. But, I also respect that some people may not feel the same as me, and that’s to be expected.

As long as we all remain respectful, we are encouraged to disagree in this community. It’s the only way we can be a genuine community.

  • It depends. Like most things these days, nothing is simply black and white. Provide proof and we will deal with it on a case by case basis.

Friends, Comic Strippers... Lend Me Your Eyes

  • We did not simply allow billionaires to exist. They have spent generations cultivating the billionaire class. They have tricked us all, like frogs in boiling water.

Now they feel emboldened enough with their success that they no longer need to placate us, and are their true selves. Yeah, there are more of us than there are them, but they control us because we own nothing anymore.

That said, we applaud basic humanity for the very same reasons: we have been brainwashed to think evil is normal. So when someone deviates from evil, and does the bare minimum human effort, we see that as extraordinary.

  • You washed out. It’s all the buzz now that you posted it. Be careful though, this could get hairy.

  • Why not both?

  • The people writing the laws know exactly what they’re doing. Also, the people writing the laws are not necessarily the people passing the laws.

Lobbyists often will write laws, and then wine and dine lawmakers to pass them.

  • Ooh! Ooh! I know this one.

    It’s a… it’s a… um, late for dinner? 🫣

  • So, hear me out…

If all LGBTQ+, minorities, and women were to walk around with headbands or necklaces of the Israeli flag, then anyone doing them any injustices could be tried and prosecuted as domestic terrorists, no?

I’m only kidding, but could you imagine if ICE couldn’t kidnap and disappear immigrants that were wearing Israeli gear?

Edit: I just realized the community I commented in. My apologies about the ICE comment, but the sentiment stands.

  • It’s colloquially known as a Norman Door. It’s a subject taught in UX design classes in universities.
