I am a time-traveling dolphin. An entity made of giant balls gave me the ability to breathe underwater, but this ability was recently stolen from me by aliens.

Sometimes I turn into a bird.

  • Your family members are complete, whole individuals with their own autonomy. If they don't want your advice you can't force them to hear it, even if its helpful. If you pursue them with it you'll push them away. From what you have written it seems you are violating these boundaries.

You must find a way to let go of the bitterness in yourself. It is a weight. You cannot erase the abuses you have suffered but you must be the one that heals. Easier said than done, I know. It doesn't mean you're obligated to forgive anyone. Therepy is helpful.

  • Yea, maybe it makes more sense but would that make skunk dark type? The rick paper scissors for the starters wouldn't work then

  • poison/fighting (skunk), dark (raccoon) and psychic (possum... playing possum is clearly a psychic move)

The rock paper scissors works (kinda, not really. dark's immunity to psychic would either make the rival fight a little harder or very easy. Skunk should be poison /fighting for gameplay reasons)

  • (he’s a bad person though)

    I don't believe you

  • This joke is stolen

Just like the surplus value from my labor

(The art is nice I upvoted it)

  • My state has the minimum wage set at the federal minimum wage (7.25/hr) which is not livable in any area of the state.

They even passed laws so our mostly Democratic-leaning urban city can't raise the minimum wage past the state minimum wage. The cost of living in that city is higher than my local area, where you can't find a 1br apartment for less than $900/month

The federal wage has to be raised federally or red states will never do it.

  • I missed your stuff

What happened to the sdf Lemmy?

  • As a math major I'm concerned about those curly bois near mu/alpha in the background

  • I recommend reading the article. You're not wrong but... I mean he has to deal with all that plus not being able to have a legal job, bank account, health insurance, car, apartment....

Plus some sketchy dude he was illegally subletting from directly stole from him. Like, in a direct way.

  • Rstudio (FOSS) can do this but I don't remember what library.

I was introduced to Fourier analysis in a time series analysis class. Haven't had to use it yet but very interesting.

  • A six foot tall woman? Impossible. Next you'll tell me they can be doctors.

  • Hexbear/others has a word for what is featured in the OP image - adventurism. They take a dim view of it. They point out doing violence like this does not end up serving the perpetrator's political goals. Instead they point out (rightfully) that people need to organize, build up their local community, get to know your neighbors, etc to affect change in the world.

Sure, they joke about it occasionally, they are edgelords, but adventurism doesn't further their aims and they are direct with posters who aren't shitposting.

They really don't have anything to do with this. You even mention this poster is probably right-wing. Its pretty clear that (insert instance you don't like) isn't involved if you're not looking for new evil things the evil tankies did.

  • I live in a city. There is only one cable provider (Comcast) on my street or DSL (slow). I get less than 1 gig, can't remember what we actually pay for. Doesn't matter, comcast wont fix it anyway. The article describes my experience pretty accurately.

Fiber isn't coming to my neighborhood due to geography (there is a small lake isolating my neighborhood from the existing networks).

Before I moved here we lived in an apartment with a choice between two cable internet providers.

Not everywhere in America is lucky to have options like yours.

  • Its the hoods the Ku Klux Klan wears

  • Yes, but what I am saying is, everyone here at Lemmy.com.nz.ml has more in common with this lady than some normal person who wouldn't do sword yoga (lmao) or talk to a reporter about it. I, personally, am deeply cringe and would never talk to a reporter about my weird ass hobbies.

My comment was aimed at the folks posting "well acktually u don't use swords in yoga try a real martial art 🤓" or that one down voted person talking about karens, for some reason.

  • ITT: Lemmy nerds, some of whom definitely own swords they bought at renfair, dunk on some lady doing dumb shit with a sword.

y'all live in some glass houses

  • Yes, and Americans know this is true but they forget how it might change their perspective of the world.

Its like that old joke: two fish meet in the ocean. The first fish says "hey how are ya, how's the water?" And the second fish says, "what's water?"

Most of the people I know are working class and can't travel overseas for vacation (if they even can afford to have one). Seeing it on TV is completely different than experiencing it.

  • There exists cities where the streets are older than America itself.

The locals feel pressure to allow automobile traffic down these roads, and where space allows they generally do. It feels out of place.

I have been to cities like this. I have driven cars in places like this (i lived internationally for a while) and it doesn't feel right. I don't have money to travel now, but if I did, I would just walk.

There are cities that people still live in that predate the concept of street addresses and post offices and I have met them, and have had no idea what to put down on the bullshit forms at my bullshit job for their address.

    The world is large.

  • Your sentence is much longer than the average sentence, but your total comment is short and to the point. Your word choice is somewhat unusual (more classic English than internet comment).

Thats three indicators that stick out to me that your comment is human.
