Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball-sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbor's dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grapeshot, "Tally ho lads" the grapeshot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

It's crazy because ethenol COULD be just a byproduct from food production. Talking to farmers about a decade ago that what they were aiming for. Basically a step before just tilling it or burning it back into the field if it was misshappen (consumers don't buy ugly veggies) or worse infested/rotting.

The subsidy structure messed that up apparently. The subsidized crop insurance made it not worth it, plus the ethanol subsidies required dedicated fields.

I 100% would rather see solar over dedicated ethanol fields and all of the water usage and pollution they represent.

That honestly was my favorite thing to do. Torrent and seed public domain and foss things like books and isos. It led to a couple false cease and dissets which was really funny telling them they were wrong.

Im not content with just treating him like the heel of global politics though, because unfortunately he can win, and could really set the world back further. It also has Overton window shifting effect, where other authoritarians, if we can't oppose him on principle and soundly, can justify that at least they arent him.

Does it require it to be good? Like an audited service working with government databases and some kind of PKI system or is it just heuristics? If it's the latter, then half ass a local vision model running client side during registration that trys to determine age, and defaults to "sure". Have the age range the guess falls into (6-12, 13-18, 18-25, 25-999) be random number tables pick a fake number in the guess age range and move on. If a user WANTS to be precise let them. Maybe a test on "adult" questions like what is your favorite brand of toilet paper, what did you last pay for eggs, when cleaning a rug what method do prefer, etc (localized to region maybe just so people unfamiliar with a thing don't get stressed by these bs questions).

Even better federation if we could have a concept for the federated servers so that they have a concept of what info actually needs passed along (as in above 18) and pass just that info if the user allows. Useful idea for other bits imho anyways. Pick and choose what actor metadata we share, allow servers to share data calculated on metadata without sharing it, etc.

Otherwise as others have said, Tor, i2p, and maybe freenet? The best case is servers in free countries support all three clearweb, tor, and i2p, and local server behind the wire support just the secure one that works in their security environment.

I feel that way giving kids computers. A Linux laptop CAN be source of brain rot (ala the internet) but an to a tablet or phone is almost guaranteed via the apps it has.

Tbf most of experience with doctors of late has been a vitails, weight, and height check, then waiting 30 minutes for a doctor to come ask me my name, ask why I'm here, check the chart, rattle off the same "you oughta"s and leave within the first 5 minutes of meeting the guy. I am the persistent and fortunate one of people I know and actually go to occasionally despite waiting a few months at a time to find one between my two primary care docs (I signed up with two, because wait times is pretty bad).

I was accused of plagerism 3 times on big projects in school because "there is no way you wrote this level of work". The first time I only "got a way with it" because as he read more the teacher realized that these werent paragraphs but instead multiline run on sentences.

Once I got better at that though I actually failed those classes because they could believe it (made up for them quick no sweat off my back now). I really felt like "damn thanks but please can I just keep a passing grade instead".

That's how I felt with autism for sure. Not formally diagnosed but to go "oh most people actually naturally and subconsciously are aware of other peoples micro expressions and do not have to conciously decide to "turn on" that part of themselves when talking to other people" and explaining some of the biggest hurdles of my developmental life was a huge relief.

Like I was getting pretty misanthropic for a bit because 1 I was getting bullied by kids and adults alike for not "just getting it" and 2 thinking most people consciously sat down and choose to be jerks and inconsiderate.

Establishment democracts trying to again to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. What kind of tratoris brainrot do you have to have to on one hand acknowledge a growing faciest federal government and on the other hand fight to disarm the people, worse specifically the people mostly likely targeted by that government, while also kneecapping people and communities rights to repair and create what they want and need themselves.
