  • Yeah, of course that's the worst part. However, my point is that I'm also not fine with a connected headset when the bloody thing is perfectly capable of running the programmes on its own, but Meta just decides that you can't have that.

  • Haven't played it for years, too. It had this constant sense of futility for me, since there's no goal and you still constantly need to build things you'll never see again.

  • Well, it's still usable with Meta, but it is a pain in the ass since everything has to be piped through steam or gog anyway if you avoid the Meta store. And that only works with an USB connection, limiting what you can actually do with the device.

  • Yeah, I never would have bought a set myself due to all the crap Meta pulls off, but it was a Christmas present. I haven't even dared to sideload yet because they keep such a tight control on what you do with it. I hope there will be some kind of way to crack it in the future.

  • I have a VR set that I mainly usually only use for free museum tours (I especially recommend the Roald Amundsen House and the Japanese National Museum VR project), so if you have recommendations here, that would be great too!

  • I think Animal Crossing is more of a game that you tend to play when you are on vacation because you have a lot of time and there's a lot to do. Not really what I'm looking for.

  • That's a bit of the wrong direction. I'm looking for games that feel like vacation, not for games that you can play on vacation. The problem with those tends to be that they are only fun when you have a lot of time on your hands.

  • I tried that with Origins during the pandemic, too. But somehow the AC-style of games feel much too detached to me. The game seems to tell you that it's a game at ever chance it gets.

  • Wie sind eure Erfahrungen mit dem Kauf der günstigsten Zahnpasta im Discounter?

  • Hydroxylapatit wird allerdings nicht in Drüsen gebildet. Das wird während der Zahnbildung angelegt und in geringem Maß von innen in den Zähnen nachgebildet. Das ist auch das grundsätzliche Problem bei Hydroxylapatit-haltigen Zahnpasten: Es ist nicht belegt, dass so große Moleküle wirklich in den Zahnschmelz eingebaut werden können. Eine Remineralisierung durch den Speichel erfolgt normalerweise durch Calcium-Ionen im Speichel. Oder eben Flourid-Ionen.

    Bis auf Elmex Gelee oder ähnliches (das man aber auf keinen Fall auf den Zähnen belassen sollte, da es sonst den Zahnschmelz anlöst) sind solche Floruid-Gele nicht frei verkäuflich, weil sie sehr viel Flourid enthalten und darum nicht regelmäßig benutzt werden sollten. Problematisch ist nicht Flourid auf dem Zahnfleisch, sondern die Menge, die man herunterschluckt. Darum sind auch Maßnahmen wie Flouridtabletten, flouridiertes Trinkwasser oder Salz nicht die beste Lösung. Nach Studien ist es am sinnvollsten Zahnpasta mit Flourid zu benutzen - und nach dem Putzen nicht ausspülen, nur ausspucken. Um so länger man dann mit dem Essen oder Trinken wartet, um so effektiver ist es.

  • Fluorose ist eher ein Problem der Generation Y, als Eltern noch Unmengen von Flouridtabletten für Kinder empfohlen wurden. Kommt heute nur noch selten vor. Von Störungen der natürlichen Remineralisierung habe ich noch nie was gehört und kann mir auch nicht recht vorstellen, wie das zu Stande kommen sollte.

  • Setzt sich aber wahrscheinlich nicht so schnell durch. Der Vorteil des Verfahrens ist, dass es schneller gehen kann, als eine traditionelle Bauweise, die Nachteile sind alles andere.
