Editoria, sintetizzatori a tempo perso e anticapitalismo.

  • About to 5 since I'm pulling an April's fools joke on my student. Suckerssss!

  • It looks nice, but it's still generations behind in terms of what a studio that big and with that much money should be able to do in such a long development time. I'd rather have them keep it small and simple but improve on a lot of QoL stuff than try fancy things that are prone to break and be forgotten easily.

  • Best high-on-heroine-but-also-kinda-sad-because-my-gf-left-me-for-the-Verve-dude album of all time.

  • To be fair, that sounds like a secondary title for most of the books I love. I might have a problem.

  • Metal Memes @lemmy.world

Hustle culture might as well be the new single from Napalm Death

  • Too bad they seem to have steered towards some sort of wacky kozmic-death hybrid that doesn't really work. This, in my opinion, is a masterpiece and one of the best metal albums of the decade.

  • Playing Silksong. Knee-deep in act 2, or at least I think I am. I'm starting to see a lot of similarities between this game and Bloodborne (Team Cherry have never been afraid of saying how much they love FromSoft games, isn't it?)

  • As a teacher in a school that has been quite aggressively pushing AI down our curriculum, I have to close an eye in regard to it when it comes to a simple factor of education as a work environment: bureaucracy. Gemini has so far been a lifesaver in checking the accuracy of forms, producing standardized and highly-readable versions of tests and texts, assessment grids and all of the menial shit that is required for us to produce (and which detracts a substantial amount of time from the core of the job, which would be working with the kids).

  • My reading goal for now is being able to go through Lord of the Rings once again with a newborn daughter on my hands, ahahahahah. I think this will be a year when quantity is going to count less.

  • Pynchon. Surreal, paranoid, extremely zany and hazy. Start with Inherent Vice or Lot 49.

  • Half-Life had quite the array of big-beat inspired pieces.

  • 30 min~ before going to bed. The work + toddler combo is quite exhausting and doesn't leave much room for anything else.

  • An unusual error that I happily stumbled upon was in the Italian translation of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time when I was a kid. At some point, an adult has had enough of the protagonist and exclaims "Bloody hell", or something like that. Which was translated with outright blasphemy in Italian, for some unknown reason. Maybe the translator wasn't having it, either. Successive editions, for obvious reasons, have toned the exclamation down.

  • My grandfather actually made it to 100 just some weeks ago!

  • MiniPCs @lemmy.world

    Budget option?

  • Just to be clear, this government isn't trying in any way to masquerade itself as centre-left. FdI is right wing through and through, it demonizes the left all the time and treats insignificant changes such as this one or occupational rate (obtained through Draconian revision of national contracts) as "real work for the people", not "like the elitist left". They are populist, that's what they are.

  • Silksong booth but it's just a switch 2 playing an endless loop of a video of a brigade of clowns laughing at the camera

  • Pynchon. I know you got a last one in you, Tommy...

  • I have a better idea: let's revoke voting rights for people over 65.

  • What icon set are you using?

  • Technically, Half Life is correct. Armor, which constitutes half of your entire life points, is also 100, and you don't have it from the get go.
