  • I agree, but even if you opt into connectivity, there should be controls on that data so we need legislation that defines that, auditability, and consequences.

  • Synergizing good EQ through the single pane of glass.

  • Sorry we're all so much stupider than you and that no other systems exist to cool datacenters than the one you happen to have read about that time.

  • I had a friend order one of these off Alibaba as a lake cabin. It was utter trash, just the most cheapshit fittings in a janky outer shell that doesn't seal well enough to keep mice out, let alone insects. Insulation was almost non-existent, terrible windows, nothing fit well and doors won't close.

If it lasts 10 years I'll eat a bug.

  • I hate to tell you, but he was right. That's what closed loop systems do. IDK about this particular story, it sounds like they were open loop. But you should be able to recycle water indefinitely once it's filled and working.

  • The ones that survive for a few years are pretty hard to kill. If you stick to a brand like Cummins or Cat, they're bulletproof.

Id never buy a diesel design with a single digit birthday.

  • And then when they're trained, they stay in the cities because that's where the money is, and the creature comforts.

  • What the hell do you do, build and staff hospitals in every backwater of the second largest country in the world? How do you staff it? We're an hour and a bit out of a city of 1M and we still have to get doctors to travel from the city to run the clinics and there's no birthing clinic because of it.

  • There's a lot of PTSD from linux users in the before-time.

Don't get me started on trying to compile 3Com network drivers.

  • Are you sure the Stanfield shirts are made in Canada? All I find on their site is a statement in About that "the majority of our products are to be made in Canada". I'd be surprised if T-shirts were one of them, that ship sailed decades ago.

  • If the cylinders get scrubbed and pitted, diesel is under high pressure when it's injected, and will get forced down into the sump. You can usually tell if there's heavy blow-by from the crankcase breathers. Usually it's something like an intake leak that lets dirt into the intake. I've also seen cylinder cooler jets fail and a cylinder will melt enough to create a hole. You'll notice that as a cold cylinder because now it isn't detonating.

Diesels are born looking for new and expensive ways to die.

  • When I see that happening on a diesel, I start looking for fuel pushing past rings and getting into the oil.

  • As a farmer, we aren't seeing any uptick in grain prices, despite inputs being twice as much as last year. So if prices go up, you can rest assured it isn't going to the people producing the food. As is tradition.

  • Cheap chinese Android tablet that was supposedly 8-core 16Gb ram. It's an absolute piece of shit, I think my S4 has more juice. It's a paperweight now after the Ali seller disappeared.

  • Time to get a snake.

For the record, I fucking hate mice. Mice in the camper, mice in the truck headliners, mice in the barn, mice in the crawlspace, mice everywhere they can poke their dirty shit and piss asses so you find them in the spring by the stink.

    Fuck mice.

  • I would have assumed they would specify the quotas per price range, maybe they did. We might see cheap ones yet. Probably not what I want, but that was unlikely anyway.

  • I was hoping for $20k models.

  • Don't fuck with old man strength.

  • As social media splinters...

That's some optimism there, all right.
