  • This post highlights some issues with the commercial software that are obvious to anyone who is working in the industry, but completely ignores issues of the open source software. Both good and bad software is being developed using each model. It's pointless to compare them this way. Linus in his book provided more substantial arguments in favor of open source.

  • To end the discussion, just stop replying lol.

  • But why? Isn't building from sources the whole point of Gentoo?

  • But that was never the subject of the discussion. The USSR, and the Russian Empire before it, did successfully conquer Eastern Europe. That's a historical fact. Whether you agree that this conquest made that land rightfully theirs is another topic, in which I have no interest.

  • Suck my balls, mate.

  • Merry Christmas!

  • I asked for details, but got an idiotic sarcastic reply instead. I haven't signed to be friendly with every moron I meet. If you're acting hostile, don't complain that you're getting the same treatment back.

  • Wow, it's even easier to find on the screen. Thanks!

  • We're on a platform, where most posts are links to some blog post or something. So yes, it'd be nice to provide some info other than a generic title and stupid sarcastic comments. You could be useful, but you decided that'd be too much for effort, eh?

  • tried to conquer eastern Europe, failed

How so if it was indeed occupied for years?

  • Why?

  • Google, Meta and Microsoft are bad. But I'm good. I want to dictate who can use open-source software and how!

  • So far it sounds like your idea of helping is finding people who would work for you and then bad mouthing those who wouldn't.

  • by making it more user friendly

How? Somebody still has to implement your ideas. Creating tickets is not enough if there are no resources to work on them.

  • I laugh so hard when people write something like this. I wonder in what world the lunatic lives that this is what makes them LOSE ALL HIS RESPECT.

  • The key detail about Threads is that it's owned by Meta. That's the reason to block Threads. It was known back then, so there's nothing silly about it.

  • Use whatever you want, why do you care about what feelings other people have towards Ubuntu?

  • Post body can be used for that. It's just some posters don't bother.

  • I wasn't begging for a clickbait though!
