  • Yeah, that's true, I think you should be able to turn on encryption but my friends overvoted me on that one. I've heard that the encryption is wonky as well, though.

  • I'm on an FP5 atm, was on stock Google for about half a year (without Google account) before switiching to CalyxOS, I have no complaints except maybe the camera which is terrible, caved in and installed Gcam, probably this one:

    Be aware that I've never used an Iphone and I'm quite deep into the anti-evilcorp stuff, have been runnig customs roms for years and years, so I probably just don't know many of the cool features you can in exchange for giving up your privacy, so I don't miss them.

  • +1 for Bazzite but be aware that they have a different install image for "older / legacy" (🤷‍♀️) GPUs that you need to select when downloading (before 16xx, I didn't realize this when installing at one sysyem of mine).

  • How much is Proton Drive? You can get a TB storage with Netcloud from Hetzner for 5€ / month, which is quite the deal esp of you have a few friends to share the costs.
