transfem xennial musicianmanic pixie dream girl ;)beacon of lovebelligerently niceyes i'm bald, no i'm not a fucking nazi

too old for stupid childish games, just here to support people 💜

hi i'm joelle, a nonbinary musician from WI, USA

here's some of my music if you are curious: https://etherphon.bandcamp.com/https://soundcloud.com/etherphon

the music there right now is a tad old, but it deals with my struggles/realizations about my sexuality and gender, thus some of it is very busy and noisy because I had a lot going on in my head at the time (still do but yeah) and this sort of wall of sounds music was soothing to me at the time. I am now working on some more ambient music as well as maybe some vocal pop music :) I have a lot on my plate at the moment though

video art selfie :)

  • It's my art, I'm sorry people with epilepsy can't see it I don't know what else to say about it. Hope some other people enjoy it.

  • soz I added a warning

  • It is really satisfying to be able to make something with your own hands, so that's really cool. I should maybe think about taking it up in the winter when I am antsy and need to keep my hands busy or something. Ohhh I see I thought they were more of a fashion thing I like the color 💜 but that makes sense too, good luck to your hands!

  • It's a great synth! I love that Korg kind of does their own thing they have made some really cool stuff lately, yeah Moogs are nice, they have made some cheaper ones but even those like the sub37 are well over $1k, what do you make with it if you don't mind me asking?

  • Ahaha yeah that's fair enough I suppose, all my relatives that I could be embarrassed by are gone :/

  • Yes I am defensive about it, ok bye.

  • That is so sweet! looks like you have been at it a while that's some quality looking knitting. like your gloves btw!

  • I've been working with the web since the mid 90s I think I know what I'm talking about, but everyone has their own experience and perception. I love when people try to correct people when they have no idea who they are talking to, like you automatically know better? I think we're talking about different things anyways, you are talking about programming and I am talking about the loss of all artistic merit from web design

  • You all look beautiful! I miss going to club nights I used to go to industrial/goth nights at the clubs here all the time about 30 years ago lol. Hope you had fun, I don't see how you three couldn't 😊💚

    Weird about the NSFW thing

  • I will watch music videos but that's about it, but I'm a bit of an outlier as I never really got into watching videos or youtube in the first place

  • They all look like this, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Pluto, Hulu. If you can't see the problem then I don't know what to say, there is no design at all to the page it is just some movie posters on a page. It is boring and lazy and lacks any artistic skill or panache whatsoever. It's just another way they are making the web into boring unimaginative shits as they are

  • Oh thanks so much for this post it was really beautiful ❤️ it really resonates with me as well as someone who lost their hair in their early 20s, it absolutely devastated me and I thought I would never be pretty but then I was reminded by myself that I never much cared what society thought anyways, I was always into subcultures like industrial, the rave scene, goth club nights, so I am just finally living it. I feel like I have so much beauty and love bursting from me now from finally letting myself be myself, that it doesn't matter and I'm going to maybe do some fun stuff like paint some flags or flower or something else on my head with some makeup, I dunno we'll see!! I know I can make it work

I did post my story here in the c/translater section, where I go into what happened and why I am transitioning so late, it's never too late and everyone is beautiful 💜

  • Hehe well it's still you at any angle 😊

  • Quite a few have popped up in the thread 😄

  • Wow I really can't believe it! You're so pretty!

  • it's not that I have nothing to hide, it's that I have no shame :P

  • This is not really about the posters but the web design and a general lament for web design, those are also a problem tbh

  • It nothing to do with the posters, it's the design and navigability of the web site, and the fact that every web site looks like the same uninspired piece of generic garbage, when design used to be important
