    Mich betrifft das jetzt nicht, aber da bin ich wohl echt in der Minderheit!

  • It's funny that he loves oil but at the same time made people think world wide that renewables are actually pretty good in times of crisis and wars.

    Also funny that destroying our planet does not freak out many people even if we, well, need it for living and such trivial stuff, but the moment gas costs 10 cent more people switch their thinking.

    Sometimes I wonder how we even made it through history and did not die out yet.

  • I'm reading a few old magazines from the late 80s atm, and EA is one of the best publishers. They have great customer support, invest in experimental games, have great packaging and reasonable prices. They got the readers award for best company two times in a row now. The magazine even sells EA t-shirts in their shop, in case you want to go out and show how supportive you are.

    Reading these with the knowledge of today is so amusing and fun :)

  • Oh da werden Erinnerungen wach!!

    Besonders zu Lupin möchte ich noch etwas anmerken: es gab glaube ich nur den Film "Das Schloß des Cagliostro", den aber niemand unter diesem Titel kannte, hieß er doch in der (extremst gekürzten) VHS-Variante "Hardyman räumt auf"! Und Lupin wurde von niemand geringerem gesprochen als Tommy Piper. Abgesehen davon dass die Stimme mal überhaupt nicht passt ist diese VHS dennoch ein Prunkstück in meinem Regal!

    Das waren jetzt mehr Titel als ich in Erinnerung hatte, aber ja,das war massentauglich. Und einer der Gründe warum ich später Anime als Kinderkram abgewertet hatte (was sich erst Mitte der 2000er für mich als Fehler rausstellte, Internet sei Dank

  • Fairerweise muss man sagen: Auch in den 90ern und 2000ern war bis auf Sailer Moon und eine Handvoll Filme wie Ghost in the Shell oder Akira Anime eine Nische.

    Und die Blütezeit der Fansubs. Mit heute war das nicht vergleichbar.

  • In the sequel of The Thing they first used animatronics and later replaced them with CG. I'm still angry about what could have been an awesome movie. With CG it looks just bad.

    Otherwise, on PC or mobile Reddit is blocked for me like forever. I never turn off the VPN, so I did not use Reddit in a long time (and usually nothing of value was lost).
