Doesn’t valve provide login-free setup and use of SteamVR for the index and the like? Granted, you’ll need a beefy PC for it, and probably some kind of storefront for most games. But at least no Facebook login strapped to your head.
Those amounts you mention. The 1200-3000 dollar ones. Call me silly, but I have no clue if that’s monthly or annually. The whole situation there seems so alien. Healthcare, but also salaries and cost of living. (E.g., $45k/year is a pretty good salary here, while I think it is a junior-ish salary in the states, right? >$100k/year is rare as rocking horse shit here at least.)
And if they don’t block it outright, this trick is rather well known and easy to filter out. It takes a minute to write a function that removes anything from the + to the @.
For critical safety information/warnings, I’m on the side of the authorities here. Same reason that emergency stops on machinery should have clear, contrasting colours. If it were about the font size for the clock or the AC, I’d be on your side, though.
Honestly, it’s not like traditional automakers have a good track record of reliable software, either. Have you seen older infotainment systems? It’s like they got someone’s nephew to do the programming, and like they made UI/UX decisions by throwing darts at pictures stuck to the wall to determine the flows.
Cooking with seitan, chickpeas and beans can be really tasty. Myself, I’ve had more luck with trying new recipes versus trying to replace meat in meat dishes. I’ll do the latter every now and then though, because I still like the taste/dish.
I’m decently sure that macOS already does something somewhat similar. If a program wants to access files outside its own directory, you get asked for explicit permission to do that.
And this is why I am so grateful for the yearly inspections for cars in my country. You still have idiots driving, but at least their vehicles will be somewhat safe.
Sounds like the Dutch and Germans aren’t that different after all.
Ours also ran over stuff with their tractors, blocked highways, rammed the main entrance of a city hall, and did some casual intimidation at a politician’s home address.
Peaceful folk they are.
The “normal” forms of protest just don’t cut it anymore. When is the last time you’ve heard about one, let alone seen one?
It’s a (relatively) harmless shout for attention for a very dire problem.
