  • They don’t have the EUV machines needed to make the most modern chips. Only DUV so far.

  • Indeed not in the same league. It’s next level.

    FDA open up!

  • Well… turns out they have a serial connection from the printer to the cartridge, all in the name of DRM. And you could put nefarious things on the chip of the cartridge, which would then be able to connect to the computer through the printer. All because of them wanting to thwart third party cartridges, so a problem of their own making, basically.

  • Camera systems that read signage are nice, but not reliable enough. From my experience, it reads the signs on the side roads as well. And I don’t want my car slowing down to 50 km/h on the motorway because of a petrol station.

  • Not to worry, we had our fair share of COVID nutjobs in the Netherlands as well. Including a whole political party.

  • We could’ve had those reactors if people didn’t say the same things you’re saying 30 years ago.

  • Pretty much the only place where I see them. Let’s hope we can disable it in the future.

  • Isn’t that just social housing? Commercial landlords (particuliere huur) don’t really care that much about requirements, other than you having a certain level of income. (And they might demand a ridiculous income at that)

  • You don’t really have to buy a new car though, do you? Especially not using a loan. Nearly everyone I know, young or old, poor or well-off has a second hand car.

  • Isn’t that mostly due to Linux being widespread on servers, and by extension Android? (And if we’re talking Unix, then MacOS, too)

  • I absolutely love being able to command+c and command+v in my terminals.

  • I disagree. I like their tech, I think it’s cool how they (nearly?) managed to have an inkjet-like experience for an FDM printer. (As in, click, wait, take off print). However, I got (rightfully, though I say so myself) spooked by the news that their printers started randomly printing worldwide due to an error in their cloud services. That should just not happen. Ever.

  • And hamsters into guinea pigs.

  • According to the article, this uses jets of pressurised air rather than moving parts to manoeuvre.

  • I’ve heard the opposite. Apparently most uniforms have to be bought by the parents, and you can see a difference in whose household is wealthy and whose isn’t by how worn down or well-fitting the uniform is. Kids can be so mean…

  • Somewhat similar: k8s

  • I know. But often Americans say that eating out can’t be affordable if it weren’t for tips. The rest of the world seems to prove otherwise, that’s my point.

  • Then why can I, as a student, afford to go out to eat in a non-tipping country?
