  • Sorry for moving the repo on you! Hopefully won’t need to do that again. At least not until GitHub reaches full enshittification

  • Glad to see someone using that feature!

  • Blorp dev here. Blorp does have user tagging, but it actually stores all that data client side. I had no idea PieFed had user tagging built in. It would be nice to integrate with the PieFed API, but it would be a little tricky.

Currently, if you tag a user in Blorp, that tag is stored at the app level. You can login to your app with a Lemmy and a PieFed account simultaneously. If you tag a user from your PieFed account, you will still see that user tag after you switch to your Lemmy account.

If we did tagging at account level instead of app level, the user tags you see would change base on which account you switch to.

  • The current Blorp emoji picker is pretty bad. I was thinking about just making it a scrollable grid of emojis you can pick from and maybe search. Basically the same as the emoji keyboard on your phone.

  • Anything specific that you are going to add regarding emoji reactions? I assumed emojis were more of a UI problem. I really want expanded feed support, which I think is more blocked by the API than emojis.

  • Does it work for adults too?

  • Totally fair! I don't know if I've crossed the user threshold yet with Blorp to be overwhelmed by the feedback, so maybe I'll regret my earlier statement. Since Lemmy/PieFed is so privacy focused, I collect 0 analytics data. So that user feedback is kinda the only way to know that people are actually using my app.

I understand Lemmy/PieFed is very anti AI, and honestly for good reason, but I have found it helpful to collect a dump of the comments mentioning "Borp" and then have an LLM categorize what are the top feature requests/bugs. So sometimes that feedback is also helpful indirectly.

I guess my point is, I can't really do anything with no feedback, but I can find ways to comb though a large quantity of feedback.

  • Blorp dev here. I agree, but it’s also good to know the pain points. Someone people are correct that a problem exists, but incorrect in their proposed solution.

For example, the are probably ways I can update the App Store listing to make it more obvious that we support PieFed.

  • Blorp dev here! We have

    • Multi account support, better than any other client imo
    • Login with Lemmy and PieFed
    • Save post drafts, finish later
    • Create piefed poll posts
    • PieFed emoji reactions
    • Some fun themes and easter eggs
    • Great nsfw browsing, if that’s your thing
    • And much more

iOS | FDroid | Google Play | Source Code

  • Blorp dev here. We got great support for web and iOS/Android. Though admittedly, the PWA install could use a little improvement. But the more Android becomes an issue, the more I’ll work on improving the PWA.

  • Well thanks for the reminder

  • The latest conspiracy I’ve heard is that Anthropic's models run worse on Google servers, but internally the researchers wanna free up nvidia compute. So they knowingly moved their models for consumers in a way that degraded quality.

What isn’t a conspiracy is the quality of Claude code dropped enough the past couple weeks that people noticed. Athropic even wrote a blog post claiming they fixed it:

If you ask me, I think the drop in quality is due to arrogance, with a side of incompetence.

  • #3 would be a fantastic hide and seek spot if you add a hatch and a small rug

  • I don’t see the issue. Americans love cars and they love AI. This has both

  • I used brave for a while. Recently switched to zen browser to try some better tab management. But despite all braves issues, it’s ad/tracker blocking was always very good imo. I think it will be a good addition to Firefox.
