Oh no, you!

  • Yup. I remember seeing a behind the scenes clip once where the stuntman got a Styrofoam insert on his back under the sweater, as well as pads for knees and elbows. Probably other stuff too that I didn't see or remember.

In the clip of him actually falling you can see him rolling in a manner that ensures only the padded parts of his body are the ones that hit the stairs particularly hard. His head never touched anything.

  • Eat shit, Rudy!

  • Probably. But not any more so than any other privileged white woman of that era.

Source: Just an assumption, as I haven't stumbled across anything explicitly stating that she was anything else.

EDIT: I'll defer to Disregardable for more substance, as it would seem she was actually LESS racist than her contemporaries.

  • Nicest: Factorio. No matter what you build, people will applaud you for it. Someone comes in, excusing their design for neither being efficient nor pretty. "If you had fun building it, it's already great."

Worst: War Thunder. So much toxicity in the chat it's impressive. Plus a fair bit of edgy kids dabbling in racism and neo nazism. I guess that's a side effect of being Free to Play

EDIT: Downvoted by war thunder players.

  • Hotkeys, bash aliases, and a couple of hacks in perl I bet

  • It's happened twice after leaving a job, that I've been contacted by a recruiter who wants me to fill the same role in the company I just left.

  • Norway. Far from perfect, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

There is a bit of a wait for non-critical stuff, but for the most part that's OK. It's technically not free: costs around 30$ equivalent to see the doctor for anything not critical. Not sure why; I think it's mostly symbolic.

My kid broke his arm last year and got a titanium rod inserted into the bone. The only expende was that I bought a sandwich while he was in surgery.

  • A thermal exhaust port, only two meters wide. It leads directly to the reactor system.

  • So I watched the clip linked in the news article, and... uh... OK, the actress is Asian. So, a blatant asian stereotype is that they have asian-looking features, I guess?

From what I can see, the character could've been played by an actress of any other complexion, leaving the dialogue and demeanor intact, and nothing would change.

  • Yes. 20 to 30 years ago I had long black hair and looked like the average black metal enthusiast. However, when people weren't looking I wore a white jumpsuit with capton belt, and a green-tinted fraggle-hair wig.

  • Norwegian: Rhymes with Debra, provided that the B is soft. "Seh-bra"

  • Yup, they just never figured out to have fuses and relays in the instrument panels. No wonder Geordi is blind.

  • I know you meant that a joke, but upon further research into this, I discovered that it's actually true.

Source: I also made it up

  • I'm not gonna comment on the fashion, as I'm sure that can't be accurately predicted (hell, I'm not outruling that this prediction might prove accurate in three years..)

But have you noticed that all sci-fi movies have fucking terrible UIs and means of interacting with computers?

Take for example Minority Report: Holographic screens are cool I guess. But then they stand there and flail their arms around to move objects and entities back and forth. Now, imagine controlling a computer for an entire work day like that; You'd be fucking exhausted and crying from the muscle strain.

Keyboard and mouse have been standard for half a century now, and for a good reason. Something else will probably replace it at some point, but YMCA-dancing the instructions will not be it.

  • IIRC, The Pinkertons got their claim to fame infamy during that strike as strikebreakers.

  • It was reasonably common in the floppy disk era. Some games allowed you to play for a set amount of time, after which it asked you for something external to the game itself. Some examples I remember:

    • Dune 2 asked for some units stats that could be found in the games manual
    • Day of the Tentacle needed you to complete a battery blueprint sketch in game. The missing info could be found in the manual
    • Monkey Island 2 asked for a voodoo recipe. To find the correct measurements, you had to spin two overlaid sheets to align something, which revealed a value.

All of the above could of course be copied and/or guessed, but it did at least introduce some bar of entry.
