  • No problem. I only knew about it because I read some article when it was released a while back.

Hopefully your Dad will find it easy to use.

  • Microslop btw

  • Go for GoG.

  • In the US. Not world wide.

  • NixOS is not for beginners. All configuration is with a text file in the terminal. If you aren't comfortable with programming or the terminal, I would not recommend it unless you want to learn the hard way and have help.

Also, there is nothing inherently private about NixOS. You would need to find or curate the right privacy configuration.

  • Devenv once introduced an"feature" that uploaded your entire repo to a secret server to train their AI and didn't understand the backlash they got. There's no way they should ever be given a second chance. It is not a good recommendation.

  • OK. Unfortunately, I don't use Mint, so I was hoping it would contain more information. I would have to go the same route as you and start searching the web to find answers.

If you copy paste the error message into a search engine, you'll probably get some guidance. Most likely it's something others have experienced.

  • Should've learned rust. You could be writing crypto now!

  • Just rebase Winblows onto linux and maybe it won't suck as much.

  • Why not Codeberg?

  • I'm surprised there are so many devs on codeberg. Very impressive.

  • The "Alt+F4 is a cheatcode" of our times.

  • What else does the error message say? Is that the extent of it?

  • Looking for Maintainers

The Open Home Foundation is looking for maintainers for Piper! If you're interested, please send a message to voice@openhomefoundation.org

Well, that's a pity. But if it continues working, that should be good enough.

  • On a laptop? Which specs did that laptop have?

  • MZLA Technologies, the Mozilla subsidiary behind Thunderbird, has launched Thunderbolt, an open source, self-hostable AI client aimed at organizations that can't send sensitive data to third-party AI services.

Mozilla wasting money? Say it isn't so...

  • Buy new let's or swap them with heavily used keys. There's no reason to just toss them. That's ewaste

  • I do not understand your issue. If skills are simple files, why not copy them into your nixos configuration directory? Or run whatever tool exists to download them into your nixos configuration directory and commit it to git.

    What's the actual issue here?
