  • They do say that. Has the article changed since you read it?

Looks like it did indeed change. I'm glad they now mention forgejo. They are doing terrific work and have evolved a lot since codeberg started using it.

And it is important what the government is doing. If they were writing it from scratch, that would have been a real pity. Luckily, that isn't the case.

  • Those are bugs I dont think any programming language catch, unless it's a DSL for writing such programs on Linux or another OS.

  • Only downside is the MIT license, but they are doing good work. Glad they started the project. It also makes it easier to integrate onto other operating systems thanks to the rust toolchain.

    How do we report communities?

  • Huh? So we should never name things that aren't well known? What kind of logic is that? And how is saying "we're building on a forgejo instance" the same as "using the wrong thing"?

  • It's a forgejo instance. I don't know why they don't just say that. Hopefully they actually implement federation so that their state and national instances can collaborate. That would be such a game changer. Microslop GitHub could then number it's days.

  • Add a prepush hook that checks if git status is clean (or some other gir command that lists uncommitted files). If it is, either fail straight away of make the hook interactive and ask whether it's ok or something.

    Maybe https://pre-commit.com/ has something already.

  • Gotcha. Yeah, those are indeed fucky to repair. If the spring breaks, maybe you replace them, but if the circuit breaks, then they probably really ripe for the dustbin.

Also, membrane always makes me think of the rollable, silicon keyboard. Really wanted to test one, but am not made of money and unwilling to buy something that might just be an easily broken dust collector.

  • I dont mind framework wanting to copy Apple or set it as some kind of goal, whatever. But do they have to ride their dick so hard and mention them everywhere in their video? It's as if the marketing team wasn't present when filming. "Say Macbook Pro more often than our product. That'll make us not sound like a knockoff".

  • Check it out. 5€/key with everything included. It's more expensive than I'd like, but replacing a single key is much easier this way, much better for the environment, and way more economical than chucking the whole keyboard in the bin to buy another one for 20+€.

  • Epstein class

Also one of the reasons I'm going for GoG. And of course the freedom to install games on as many machines I damn well please.

  • I see keys for 5€ each, regardless of "rubber dome", scissors, membrane, whatever. What prices are you seeing?

  • I was remembering my Ubuntu Unity days which apparently ended in 2012 or so. Didn't realise it was so long ago.

Ubuntu might've had ads in the OS even before Microslop. Who knows, maybe they even gave them the idea.

  • Didn't hey start putting ads into their start menu, search results, or something? This is not really a surprise given that trajectory.

  • You think it is, but keyboards are tossed a lot for having a single bad key

  • We are so small and insignificant. I love astronomy pictures.

  • I think I'll have to start downvoting anything from Xitter. Why are people so steadfast I'm their usage?
