    1. Shielding is a simple but effective upgrade, expecially when the guitar has single coils in it. Just remember to connect the circuit ground to the shielding with a screw or something otherwise it's going to be useless
    2. Twisting leads is another thing that helps keeping your signal clean of interferences. Some say it heightens resistance values in the circuit but in my experience I never heard anything noticeable
    3. For the schematics I would look at stock Fender Mustang wiring. It has two on-off-on switches instead of just on-off but you can see if you can fit the o-o-o on yours and have the phase switching circuit. Alternatively you can rework the circuit for o-o witches (should be easy, if you need help ask).

  • Do you air drum the intro of Limelight as well or do you lie to everyone?

  • The song that made me unlock new techniques while I was only playing acoustic was "Che Rumore Fa La Felicità" (link): it forced me to learn to play percussion while finger picking and it's a thing I keep doing years later, even if I play rhythm on an electric (finger picking + percussion on a Telecaster middle position is among my favourite guitar tones).

If we're talking about music theory instead, playing on a ukulele will force you to own your triads positions and escape the CAGED system (pun intended).

  • This is the opposite side of the spectrum of what I like, but I still think it's cool AF.Also Bare Knuckle is * chef's kiss*

  • And in the center of the graph you can find Fedora.Far from perfect but the exact middle ground

  • Your E, A and D strings are winded in the opposite direction from what they should be and also it looks like there are some weird overlapping on the pegs: restring your guitar correctly and see if there is still an issue with your tuning stability before changing anything.

  • Hell yeah Talman brother! I love it in green

  • My european mind sees this as the weirdest flex

  • Well there is a bit of cult following around the Talman series on the web, mainly because they are a barebone and stylish alternative to the classic teles and strats. They're quite sought after since the only way to get one new nowadays is to buy the Yvette Young signature and that's a big jump in budget.

Edit: if you can, please share a picture of yours in the community!

  • So this it next to my Player Tele: the size is pretty much the same.

I'm a big fan of the original body but this one being offset is more stable when you wear it with a strap. Also the body is contoured so it's more comfortable to play. The big difference is the neck: the Player has a modern c neck, while the Talman has an old school fat Fender neck. This is a matter of taste if you like it or not, personally I'm enjoying it because I've got massive hands

I haven't recorded anything but there is this guy demoing it that shows how it works.

  • Well as for the unplugged sound, SGs tend to have thinner bodies and that changes the overall acoustic of the instrument, try confronting it with the Viper to see if this is the case.As for the electronics, by a quick reasearch online I found out that your LTD's pickups have almost double the output level than the SG's and that makes a big difference in how sound is perceived.Louder pickups tend to saturate your amp earlier, so you gain power but you lose a little bit of sensitivity and dynamic. There is no "better" solution, it all depends on what you want to play: if you like heavy genres try to reproduce the output of your Viper, if you want to play blues the SG is great as it is.
