  • There is nothing wrong with being supported by Silicon Valley businesses. California has to be business friendly. AI is the future. It has to be supported. There's not going to be sufficient government affordable housing to house the number of homeless because building the government housing is expensive. Interim housing is the best solution. I would use tents for the interim housing. It would provide cheap and safe housing.

  • It must not be a bluff. If Putin doesn't accept my proposal, the UK and France must send troops into Ukraine. War would be costly, but sending weapons to Ukraine is straining Europe economies and what would Europe do if Putin is on the verge of victory?

People are willing to change if it makes sense. Equal rights for women and nonwhites are changes that many countries have accepted but some European countries have allowed a flood of migrants resulting in an increase in crime and fears that the cultural identity of the country will be changed.

    Your English is very good.

  • Yes, many Democrats are accusing him of not being a progressive, but I think Mahan is the better centrist.

  • Can't Democrats find a better candidate? Brown is too old and lost his reelection bid.

  • Becerra is too far to the left. Matt Mahan is a better choice. If Becerra is governor, California will be unchanged if not worse than under Newsome.

  • Remember that Ukraine was part of the Red Army. One of the Soviet units attacking Berlin was 1st Ukrainian Front.

  • The negotiations between Trump and Putin are not just theatrics. The problem is that Putin is demanding a lot and Trump presently is not willing to go that far.

The war in Ukraine cannot be allowed to continue forever. It is draining the economies of Europe. Europe could be facing the choice of fight now or later. It's better to fight now while Ukraine is strong. The UK and France gave the Sudetenland to Hitler hoping it would stop his aggression. It didn't. When Germany invaded Poland, the Uk and France declared war but did nothing. They should have attacked Germany from the west while much of Germany's forces were in Poland. The result was that Germany later invaded France and despite considered one the world's most powerful countries, surrendered in 6 weeks.

  • Incorrect. A representative democracy must be in touch with what people want rather than keeping the status quo. The increasing popularity of far-right parties in Europe is causing centrist parties to adopt some of their policies.

  • No, the negotiation is between Trump and Putin. Europe should be involved. Trump should not be trusted because events in Ukraine affects Europe more than the US.

This is what Europe should propose to Putin. Russia will withdraw from all land it seized from Ukraine after the 2022 invasion. NATO would be dissolved and replaced with a European alliance. Ukraine and Canada would be permitted to join but not the US. All sanctions against Russia will be lifted. Russia will not be required to pay reparations. If Putin doesn't accept the proposal, the UK and France would send troops to Ukraine.

  • Yes, Europe must go it alone. It should negotiate with Putin regarding Ukraine. It should get together with Russia and China and negotiate with Iran.

  • Possible reforms I can think of are limit Supreme Court judges to 6 year terms. After that they would have to be reappointed. The President cannot issue pardons. Non-Supreme Court judges would be appointed by a bipartisan congressional committee which would choose a pool of candidates for a certain position. From that pool one would be chosen randomly. Congress must approve of all military action. The exception is when an immediate response is required. Then congressional approval would be required ASAP.

I'm sure a committee of scholars can think of more reforms.

  • Russia, China, and the EU should get together and negotiate a deal with Iran. They could offer a different perspective, and Iran trusts them more. If they negotiate a deal, it will put pressure on Trump to follow.

  • Yes, but for politicians climate change will have a negative effect on the economy which will affect them being elected.

  • True, but if the nonbelievers start to believe, hopefully it will not be too late to do something.

  • True but Democratic candidates can appeal to independents.

  • Trump doesn't believe in climate change, but he won't be able to escape it.

  • Democrats can use this against Republican candidates running for reelection. Just say this candidate voted against this proposed reform and say what the reform is.

  • The problem is that the executive branch has too much power. Congress should have a committee of scholars convene and propose laws that would balance the powers of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The laws would be forwarded to Congress for debate and implementation as they are proposed.

  • Trump should agree with Iran's proposal regarding its enriched uranium in exchange for opening the Strait of Hormuz and not charging a toll. It would be unnecessary for Iran to charge a toll since all sanctions would be lifted and it could make money from exports.
