  • You probably want MATE, XFCE, LXQT, or god forbid Trinity.

    Out of those, i personally find XFCE to be the most tolerable, and you can get some pretty decent looking themes setup for it. My system uses around 600mb on a cold boot, in theory I could get it down to 400mb but that comes with a good amount of drawbacks. CPU usage among all of those options is negligible.

  • I mean, objectively, the dprk is largely underdeveloped which is enough for me to say i wouldn't want to live there (and yes it doesn't help that the entire world hates them and wont leave then alone). Last I knew lots of housing was getting built in rural areas though, which is good.

You won't get that because something as simple as losing icons on the desktop is the kinda thing that'll confuse someone that's bad with computers. Instead, think in terms of what's going to be easy for you to fix when you inevitably have to play tech support.

  • Outside the "food for survival" aspect (which I won't touch on because everyone else already has)...Rape vs Murder is essentially the topic here.

    I'm in the camp that murder (as in intentional cold blooded murder) is comparatively worse. Culturally, I think the overwhelming majority of people disagree.

    I think there are people out there that would much rather be around someone who has killed in cold blood. I think there are far more people willing to accept that a former murderer has reformed. There is a certain degree of sanctity people give sex that they don't even give life itself.

    Both are extraordinarily heinous crimes and i am in no way defending either.

  • This is a tangent, but I miss the days of things just working?

    Why does my GPU need an entire software suite to function? Why do my keyboard and mouse? My monitor? Why does every piece of hardware need a buggy terrible gui with "features" nobody ever cared about until it was advertised to them? Up until the last 5 years I've never had a monitor not just work out of the box (outside of crt setups with adapters plugged into adapters)
