  • Exactly, since my protest non vote is indistinguishable from all the other non votes I don't think it is a useful way to protest. I'd prefer to have my voice heard even if faintly and easily ignored. Where I live, the best option right now is to cast an invalid vote, they make it to the final statistics and don't go to any candidate unlike the blank votes, that get proportionately distributed.

  • Every now and then I look these up on wikipedia to learn how they are called in my language and then I realise there are plenty of names that I knew they were some kind of owl but never paid too much attention to them.

Today I learned that these owls of the genus Bubo are what in Catalan are called dukes (ducs), in France they seem a bit more important because the are grand dukes and in Spanish even importanter because they are royal owls.

  • Why not? I think it is a very good distinction to make, they are two opposite stances. One of rebellion and one of complacency.

  • How do I differentiate the goats that didn't vote because they didn't want to grant legitimacy to the process from those that didn't vote because they didn't give a fuck and are OK with whatever outcome?

  • Thanks. Your daily posts made me notice that owls are one of the most popular designs in origami, if not the most, almost every book I have has at least one owl in it.

  • These are probably my favourite.

  • What are the requirements to be considered active?

  • I guess they kept doing whatever they did until then. In the thirties? They probably dumped everything into the nearest river.

If you asked 25 years ago I could have asked my grandfather.

Edit: I've re-read the question, mantained. It probably didn't last long enough.

  • How easy is to change your name over there? To legally change your name where I live is quite hard.

22nd of pApril. Something went horribly wrong because the thing is missing its head

  • My point is that those working on lesser problems might come up with solutions much faster than those working on bigger problems, making it seem that they go after them first.

  • Don't think the UK or the government as single monolithic entity, people tend to do that. Those in charge of the smoking ban hardly would be the same people that are in charge of tackling the problem of gang violence or many other problems. One team of people not succeeding at their task doesn't prevent others to do theirs.

Two people can work on two things at the same time.

  • Lol, so what? What is your point? Are those threats mutually exclusive or something?

  • You made look. Maybe I should wipe it.

  • Why I am not surprised?

  • It would depend on what would it entail, for how long, how much, etc. It is a balance.

Right now I earn very little but I'm doing fine with zero headaches. So I would need a huge lot more than if I didn't have a job or really need the money for something.
