  • Oops, I set the cron to daily not weekly.

    Good news is I discovered that it was still tracking newly discovered comms and treating the growth from 0 to +241 as all new subs. That's been fixed.

    Also new communities will no longer show-up in the top 10 volume/percentage as I feel they have the potential to top the charts if they get a moderate amount of subs at the start.

    Fingers crossed for next Friday!

  • Lacking the words for it is so real. I'm working with 2-3 year olds and a big part of what I'm doing this year is helping equip them with the understanding of gender (including the words to describe these things) and working with staff on anti-bias and how to recognise their own.

    It's refreshing to see how so many kids by the time they're hitting primary school are knowledgeable about this stuff. I know one primary school near me as 'theys' toilets along with the boys/girls toilets. I am so excited for these generations to grow up and start running things.

  • From my earliest memories I always wanted to be 'cute', to the point that by 8 or so I was falling asleep trying to squish my head in my hands to stop me growing more masculine/'not cute' in my child-like mind.

    By 15 there was global news about a trans girl in Germany wanting to go on blockers and it was this huge ordeal as she was 'so young' etc. I remember wishing I could've done that. I found out that it was near impossible to ever do in my country and required lots of therapy and you needed approval etc. I knew I'd never get too so I gave up on the thought.

    By 17 I started ordering womens clothes on ebay and sneaking them into my room. Totally cis though!

    I eventually gave up on it all because it could never happen and I just looked more and more masculine as I aged.

    At 37 I met an enby kid in the daycare I worked at, I was so inspired that a little 3 year old was living their truth, and I soon discovered you could do informed consent. I realised I was trans and everything in my life 'clicked', such as my lifelong wish to be a lesbian. I'm on HRT now and happier than ever.

    How does everyone feel about it tracking NSFW communities? I am worried they may top the charts, I could potentially put them in their own breakout list?

    Also Quokk.au has a few of it's own services that I would like a centralised place for, such as Threadirator and our finally working Community Growth Tracker. Both of these services work across PieFed/Lemmy, whereas previous ones have largely focused on Lemmy.
