  • Thank God it's skim milk.

  • The world is healing.

  • Loans have to be repaid and I'm not talking about liquidity. If you have a billion $ in cash and use it to fund a billion $ research vessel, you have a billion $ research vessel. You're still a billionaire. Gaben owns large portion of Valve, a multi billion $ company. The only way for him to no longer be a billionaire is to either

    • Sell his stake in Valve and burn, give away or otherwise loose all the money.
    • Devalue Valve to the point that it's no longer worth billions of $.
  • Tell me you don't understand net worth without telling me you don't understand net worth. Do you think being a billionaire means holding a 10,000,000 $100 bills under your mattress?

  • That's why we need decentralized infrastructure like a meshnet or personal/community satellite network. Reticulum based networks are imo the best candidates for that, right now and in the foreseeable future.

  • It's not really a loan. It's supposed to be repaired from war reparations Ukraine would receive from Russia, which won't happen. So it's essentially a gift.

  • Honey swapped the referal code when another reflink was clicked, brave only applied it's own code when no referral was used. Not saying that it's good but honey was purposefully robbing creators, often their own partners when brave only tried to make some money on the side.

  • It's free and open source, you don't have to fund anything. Just don't enable adds/rewards and don't pay for their VPN, AI, talk.

    1. Don't care.
    2. No it doesn't.
    3. Don't care.
    4. They're a for-profit privacy centric company same as proton, mullvad, tuta, kagi, duckduckgo, nextcloud, adguard, threema, nextDNS, startmail, bitwarden, OsmAnd, organic maps, odysee, obsidian, onlyoffice, 1984 hosting, njalla, canonical, qubesOS, pfSense, fairphone...

The Internet, Reinvented. Introduction to Reticulum.

  • https://vpn.simplifiedprivacy.com/ has a $1/month sub and you can pair it with their https://hydraveil.net/ tool for compartmentalization. Some of their servers are run by known members of the monero community like trusted vendors or market admins. You can also get shared/resold accounts for big vpn companies on https://xmrbazaar.com/ (for example 2 years of PIA for $15 from a trusted vendor https://xmrbazaar.com/listing/xEM5/) or rent a DMCA ignored VPS with monero and set up your own VPN for $7-12/year, you won't exactly hide in the crowd that way but it's better than nothing and should thwart ISP related annoyances.

  • I'm not trying to give unsolicited advice but you can get a VPN subscription for 1$/month and put it on your router to get your whole house covered. Seems like a small price to pay for extra privacy and less ISP related headaches. ProtonVPN offers an unlimited bandwidth free tier too.

Forced age verification is comming sooner than we thought.

  • Replacing broken displays will cost them less than paying someone to swap labels by hand, and if it does become even mildly annoying to them you will be caught and have the book thrown at you. If you are gonna break the law you might as well do something more productive than generating tax write offs.

  • Risk criminal charges to cause $24 in damages, that will surely crumple the multi bilion dolar corporation.

  • What do you need all that ram for?

  • Next step will be a country wide captive portal where you need to log in with your digital id just to get on the Internet at all. We should all start looking into decentralized network infrastructure like a wifi&lora meshnet or community run satellite connection. There already is a network stack with an active community that allows that called reticulum. It can be incorporated into the existing infrastructure of meshtastic, i2p, wifi meshnets etc.
