  • We are probably just a few years off from that. Even now, you can probably describe a simple shape to a chatbot and have it spit out OpenSCAD code that generates a 3D model for that shape.

  • I think the message that this is trying to boil down to is "Something made by AI is not always inherently worse than something made by a human." Because a human is technically capable of making a sloppy piece with a 3D pen while a machine is technically capable of making a precise piece.

    But I would argue that a 3D printer does not involve any artificial intelligence. A person created the original 3D model, and then an algorithm is instructing the printer how to reproduce that model. But an algorithm is not intelligence.
