  • For those of you with a living room or multiple rooms; do you have a TV in your bedroom? Why or why not?

  • One of the few things we agree on with my spouse is not having a TV in the bedroom. The TV in the living room and our PCs are enough, the bedroom is for sleeping.

  • I've checked once on the fingerprint testing website how my firefox scores and brave just out the box scored way better. I have been considering to move to brave since then. Temporarily I settled on using firefox for casual web browsing and mullvad for shopping.

  • Ours doesn't, we collect it in used oil plastic bottles and there's a collecting area at every petrol station.

  • I agree. I have been using it for years. First it was a bit buggy with my Huawei GT 2, but it has become almost buttersmooth. The devs are really putting effort in it.

  • You practically either have the option to use your "subdomain" e.g. foo@mylittlepony.addy.io or if you are fine with random characters, then you can have an address on the main domain e.g. xhgj18273@addy.io. Unfortunately this is not the first provider I see only accepting big tech addresses/accounts...

  • Alright, not 100% correct, but I am paying for a plan at addy.io and I used my personal "subdomain" at addy.io that I don't want to share here, because it does not matter.

  • My guess is that the agents answering are also not shared any information why some domains are blocked. I would also think that they have no idea what a domain is. Not the chatbots that answered the first couple of mails. :D

  • The idea is that is it more "real" than the other social media apps, because you cannot prepare your best self for the photo and not necessarily the best memory of that day will be recorded. Reality is that most people (maybe all people) have a relatively boring life (it's not everyday that something worthy of attention happens) and there is not much value in sharing e.g. your lunch. Most people had it that day and yours was also not that extraordinary.

    Unfortunately since facebook (maybe instagram topped it) everyone may have their own tabloid platform to share their everyday life as celebrities do on tabloids and people seem to love it.

    Not to mention the huge privacy concern that you post of a photo everyday, which may include your location, definitely your face and other useful information that may be used to hurt or annoy you in some way.

  • That's what Iam aiming for at the next hardware update. I don't have the space for a server rack and a SFF desktop would also not fit into my home, so a miniPC it'll be. I cannot wait to move to x86.

  • I have a laptop that needs a proprietary wifi driver. I just "love" it when the debian net installer works out of the box, but after first boot wifi dies because the driver is missing in the installed instance :D I need to find a lan cable, do some athletics to get to the router, then install the driver and only then I can connect via wifi :D

  • I must have hit that 1% last time. I assembled a new PC, wanted to install debian and could not get a login screen after installation. At that point I wanted something that just works. I installed Xubuntu and had the machine ready right away.

  • I got a notification about it when I upgraded from 20.04 LTS that they will only serve it as a snap package.
