  • There's a section to go through the different voices. I tried several with the sample, "hello gentleman. all your base are belong to us. you have no chance to survive, make your time." That was fun.

  • Everyone who does submit for a new passport should explicitly request a picture of Obama instead.

  • The apple silicon is more energy efficient but the latest Intel and AMD CPUs deliver more processing power and can also share a significant amount of RAM to the GPU / AI components.

  • I have not done it but I understanding is file player has a service that does this for you, obviously not self hosted in that regard but still a popular choice.

  • Also, I have a friend who is not lactose intolerant but has a phobia of cheese, to the point she'll gag and self-induce vomiting. It took me a while to convince her but I finally got her to start telling people she's allergic or intolerant instead of trying to explain that every time.

  • Sounds like you're arguing they do more good than harm?

  • This is going to piss Trump off more than anything else Mamdani's done.

  • The pope shouldn't have been dressed like that.

  • Would anyone understand it? (Couldn't resist)

  • Not "the most" but, the first that comes to mind is music by Jimmy Urine (Mindless Self Indulgence, Left Rights, Euringer). "Fuck Everything" is a mood, and while it is honestly far more tame than any of his previous works, it sums them up pretty well. Raging not against the machine but society, his parents, and his psychiatrist. Dude's probably fucked up father north than Santa and "just acting out" (I'm sure he'll grow out of it) but the music definitely strikes a chord with me.

  • how do you fit guitar practice into a dev schedule?

working as a web dev, 8+ hours at a keyboard. by evening my hands are tired and i just want to zone out.

been trying to do 20 min before work instead. it's not much but it's consistent. any other devs who play — how do you manage it?

  • According to Jupiter Ascending, yes.

But this is far more a philosophical question than scientific.

  • Literally the only joke I saw today was from Lockpicking Lawyer

  • Review seems more for entertainment purposes; fellow seems to know more about Linux but chooses to take potshots instead.

  • Is this for a personal project or something to be distributed?

If this is a distributed project where reproducibility is important, modifying external dependencies will quickly and greatly complicate things. I think a preferred method would be forking if not doing a pull request, assuming those dependencies are open source. This way you can independently develop on the dependency and source it separately instead of relying on patches

  • Friend of mine got one of the Kingsman movies and before the opening credits was what I could only guess was the Russian pirater's homemade rap video; he was injecting his own ads into the media.

  • I am sick and slightly out of my mind anyway so I'm not going to be very helpful. One thing that stands out though, if you can SSH the machine and you can curl local host to Port 8,000 or whatever. This should help you troubleshooting the container while it lives on the VPS I think
