  • I believe "instances" here refers to Fediverse instances, not Reddit

  • Bump. I know thebrainbin.org uses Anubis, so probably no Cloudfare? Not 100% sure if they automatically accept registration, but there doesn't appear to be any "enter a reason why you want to join" field like on a bunch of Fediverse sites that don't.

  • Fun. Hilarious. The chapters are definitely longer than what I can see so far with "What If?", so that's a point to "How To?" in my book, but there are subchapters if you need them. If you enjoy science and xkcd's sense of humour it's definitely a great read.

  • Hey, what a coincidence! I'm reading "What If?" too haha. Started reading his books with "How To?" since I wasn't sure if these two were for me (and if I wanted to buy it when there's a channel), but I'm hooked.

  • Thank you!

Looking at two articles I'm not sure it'd count as mosaic crochet since I only worked into the last round, never* the round before that. I think it's just a colour change?

Sometimes I carried the unused thread all the way, sometimes I crocheted it in for the first stitch or two of using a new colour and then left it to grab later (this makes it so there's free thread going through the middle). This applies to the stripes on the tail, too - it's just starting and ending the second colour in different places, no working into rows already worked into.

/*aside from whatever that was once or twice when there was a big enough hole ;')

  • Not at all! What does crossposting mean on the threadiverse? Is it just reposting or posting a link?

  • Here's a view from the top. Most of the body was just continuously crocheted curved (dec on one side, inc on the other), then I sewed it up a bit to hold the shape I wanted. It's kind of short for a snake, since its length was mostly depended on the belly colour which was (at the start) 1 used, continuous ball and 2 balls of scraps, but I'm happy it got as far as it did anyway ;)

    Freehand snake amigurumi

  • fair point ;)

  • Been listening to Kwiat Jabłoni a lot again lately - I love their music, though they only sing in Polish so not sure anyone here cares haha

  • Started working on some extra stuff for a miniature environment thingy yesterday, so that was fun. Also pretty recently finished a little hognose snake (by ComplicatedKnots - YouTube)!

  • Not sure about favourite, but:

Clint's Reptiles (zoology, not just reptiles) is nice! Not sure how I feel about the reaction content, but he does stuff like animals-as-pets reviews, animal phylogeny videos (evolutionary trees) and some other videos that might be more interesting/understandable to watch.

Cleo Abram (various science and tech stuff) is fun, though I mostly see/watch the shorts. Similar with NileRed (chemistry), but his videos can be pretty long, haha

There's also an official animated series of xkcd's "What If?"! The videos aren't long, but they're fun.

What are you making right now (or have made recently)?

  • If I need a burner email I can generate a temporary one on Tempmail

Other than that - my account for "less important stuff" is just one of my old ones. ;)

  • aww, cute!

  • Norway. Awesome sights, not so awesome prices ;)
