  • If I’m in the mood for dessert, I normally just have one bite of something sweet and that’s enough. I’ve had pints of ice cream last in the freezer for several months because after one spoon, I’m good. At work, they think I don’t eat any sweets at all. I’ve been told it’s my serial killer trait.

  • The Expanse can be harmonic tremolo with delay or spacey reverb. I use the Walrus Monument as a standard trem and sometimes a glitchy trem. I’ve had phasers and univibes before and really liked them, but harmonic trem is my favorite. I keep the Reverb on plate mode most of the time, but the spring is really good too

  • Indeed it is, other than the tuner. The EQD is really nice for adding a bit of hair and very responsive to a guitar’s volume knob, the MXR is an OCD clone without Fulltone’s baggage, the Pettyjohn Rail is a really cool fuzz/distortion - reminds me of a more versatile RAT with a gate on its most extreme setting, and the Empress is by far the best metal pedal I’ve ever played.

  • I mean they were from Ohio but all of the actual meaningful flight stuff happened in NC. Further supports the hypothesis but not in the implied sense.

  • Go surfing if there’s any swell and the wind is right. Garden year round (zone 9a) - we get some freezing temps but can still grow a lot during winter. Play guitar a few times a week. Hang out with friends a couple times a week. Attend local music and art shows. Walks on the beach. Try to keep up with reading for fun and not just technical stuff. Play some video games. Kayaking when the wind is still (rare). Going for a cruise on my single gear bike (beach cruiser). Cooking a nice meal with my wife and guessing how much it would have cost at a restaurant. Letting our dogs pick the route we’re walking on today. Having a couple beers watching the sunset over the sound. Fishing with my mom and stepdad on their boat.

  • I ended up quitting coffee altogether after drinking it for nearly 15 years regularly, except on special occasions for reasons similar to the problems you are having. I’m also becoming less tolerant to acidic foods and drinks. I switched to matcha and find my energy levels way more balanced now.

  • Way less than good coffee beans

  • Swapped drinking coffee for matcha. Energy levels are way more balanced now

  • Can only speak for myself, but they are a huge invasion of privacy. I know it’s a drop of water in a bucket with everything else hyper connected, but when I see them it’s always somewhere I’m just trying to enjoy something peacefully and even though it’s very unlikely I’m particularly being watched, it just feels like a huge privacy invasion.

  • I don’t think it’s wise to have your password manager and TOTP/MFA on the same platform. It’s especially risky if you bind your TOTP to your actual password manager, e.g., your example of one click authentication. Convenient? Definitely. But your entire identity stack is more a huge liability if you are ever compromised.

  • He’s still pretty enlightened centrist. I think he’s more concerned about making sure everyone thinks he’s cool than real gonzo journalism now, though.

  • Since it hasn’t been mentioned yet, Zim Wiki. Lacks some of the more modern features in a notes app, but I think that’s one of its strong points.

  • For personal use? Bazzite because it’s easy and stable. I have enough stuff breaking at work already…

  • People assume life will get better after high school. Family life, work, friends, etc.. Doesn’t really work out that way for most people, so they start looking at their past as their best of days. It may be more apparent for US citizens because a large part of our history education is the concept of “American exceptionalism,” which really only existed for the small generation right out of WWII.

  • They definitely didn’t mean it with grammar or punctuation

  • Is this just the lab derived delta-8/9 stuff or is it actually THCa (real bud) as well?
